haven't read the whole thread but what i was told about batteries was:

for the first few charges its best to charge it right to the top and then run them right down so it literally won't turn on. This then makes the battery know the scale of the power it has.

after this it doesn't matter when u charge it / how often / and or how long for...

it is acutally best not to run it down again either, but top it of every day...

not sure if this is true or not though, but what i was told.

@snow-munki
If you top a battery off every day, it will deteriorate a lot quicker than if you run it right down before each recharge. I'm not suggesting that you run it right down every time, as this is not always convenient. However, it will do your battery some good to run it right down then give it a nice long charge every few weeks or so.

i use the wait till battery indicator is red then charge over night method my brother uses charge when ever you get a chance regardless of battery condition an charge time and one day i had to go out and my battery was low so i asked my brother if i could borrow his battery for the day (he was staying home all day) his battery was full

we both bought our p900s the same time and now i put in his battery to my phone the meter read 98% i left at around 8am and by 9pm the battery was dead! and i used it in the exact same way i normally use my p900 and i typically get 3 - 4 days out of my battery.

make of this what you will.

@ ventmore - i'm sure you realise that the design and chemistry of the P900's battery (and charging circuit) is light years ahead of your ancient Nokia 5110's, so although your past performance is commendable, it's not really relevant here.

I'm sure in your Nokia 5110's manual it probably did tell you to charge for something like 16 hours at first, and you were right to follow that instruction. In the P900's manual it says 4 hours, and that's what tomsaysdearlord should charge his phone for

@Boinng
Yes the technology is light years ahead of the 5110 batteries, but the do develop a memory, although not to as great an extent. Also, you should read the above post from cloudstrife, and also the one from Jabe.

I will agree to disagree, as everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, I will guarantee that I will get better service for longer with my battery than you will with yours if you just top it off all the time, and thats a fact:-).

im getting my P900 coming through on tuesday and im gonna have to bite the bullet and charge mine up for appx 16hrs too.
i'll want to play with it definitely but i want it to last too. i always charge them for that time first off.

i used to work in a mobile repair shop and the amount of people who used to need new batteries after a few months just becuase they always put it on charge whenever they went to bed was unreal.
