I have a sim-free [unbranded] K700i that I am using with my Orange Monthly Contract sim card.
One annoying little thing - whenever I call the answerphone from my K700i, Orange ask me for my telephone number and pin number before they will give me my messages! This dosen't happen when I use the same sim card in either of my older 2 sim-free unbranded phones, one of which is the T610. I tried turning off the PIN-number option with the Orange answerphone, but it still asks me for my telephone number before it will give me my messages. Have checked that the K700i is set to give out my number, not withhold it.
Is this happening to anyone else?

Completely off topic and I think there maybe another thread on this but I am curious to know who many txt messages you Orange K700s can hold.
I got one on Saturday and by Monday mid day I got a message that I had reached capacity. I accepted that I needed to delete some messages and calculated that I had 65 messages stored (Inbox & Sent Items). I also have delivery reports on all messages.
Now. That aint too bad capacity but HELLO! I still have like 38MB left why can't the phone use that too?!

Orange have removed the option to show the big clock on the stanby screen and deleted the option to change the shortcuts from the joystick, other than that their modifications are fairly modest I think.

Morning,
I am currently on an Orange contract (old talk60 £15pm) and just called Orange to cncel my contract, they wanted £120 for an upgrade to the K700 and £50 if I changed my contract to a standard £25 contract. When I called they only offered me the phone for £99. So Ive cancelled my contract and am now shopping around.
I think I'll still stay with Orange and I think Ill probably go for an online deal from orange web site with 120 cross network and 250 texts for £25pm and the phone for £50. Anyone know if you can get a better deal than this anywhere? What are Orange shops doing at the moment? Will they match online deals?
thanks

If you upgrade with orange at the moment they'll give you £50 trade in on your old phone! So switch tariffs and get the phone for free!

I think its outrageous that Orange have disabled the joystick shortcut customisation - this is a standard K700 feature, and one i used alot when i had my T68.
The Orange K700 manual actually mentions this feature as being there so I'm tempted to ring Orange and complain that there is a fault with the fone!
Someone earlier mentioned CPW offering to reflash with the standard Firmware, anyone done this yet or know of any potential problems arising doing from it?
