Its not really a good idea to expose your qualification. It exposes you... since there are better people on the board (myself being one of those, being qualified engineer from a top rated university - let me stop here for the reason I explained above)
I guess he was substantiating with some search on the topic saying that the plastic casing was thin and the battery should be safe if its Li-Po and the metal case is intact.
If he proves himself to be right, I'll pity your education.
If he is proved to be wrong, I have respect for martyrs

do de da- i will expose myself to whomeever i cair and i think my qualifications are fine and i dont care if anyone elce ifs better lol - you just presume i am trying to make myself look "more intelegent" but also i state that i fail'd english - i didnot rase the point of intelegence in relation to this subject it was the other guy i respondid in kind to his "jab" at sujesting i was"for example" a 12year old with bad spelling indeed i have bad spelling but i am not 12 and i think i have my right to express views on his idia- and also have a bit of a laugh if you look through the photos taken with a p900 section i take the micky outove myself oftern to much hilarity of the onlookers,
but as a ending note the basic law of baterys if dont mess with them if they do leak then thats it game over anyone who has has battery acid on there hands before will know how nasty it is and you wanna see the stuff react with plastic it turns to a chewing gum like substance- so if that battery did ever leak and wrek your phone your buggered- u cant send it back - because they will want to examin the battery that leaked the one that did will be all cut up therefore no refund/replacement and also if u just put another bat in there is no way to make it leak and make it look like thats the one that dammaged the phone ---- --- ---
as ive said all the way through my posts im just having fun and the serious reactions it brings shock me by how some people are anti/fun
da da da do for now - who likes da da? me!

yes, for serious attempts i better not make fun of them. It discourages people.
The basic rule of having fun with others (specially those who you dont know) is that make fun of those who accept it. If @getagrip was serious from the beginning, there is no point trying to act funny.
If you are the only person enjoying this thread... go do something entertaining for yourself. It doesnt serve any purpose you being here.
The basic laws of many a hardware have changed over a time. And thats only because people have figured out ways to change them safely. Consider fuel cells... the basic laws of chemistry say... they comprise of extremely dangeraous reactions. If a fuel cell leaks, its miserable. People have implemented fuel cells over a period of time and look where we are now... on the verge of adopting a safe fuel cell.
What do you know about the geometry (or the geometry independence, if you understand that) of a Li-Po battery. Maybe @getagrip knows better than you now.
If he fails, he fails... its his phone on the line. But its basically your blanket criticism that would hamper any further enthusiasm to test this.

look - for the begining look through this thred and reed - constantly at the end of every post - no offence- having a laugh - you are taking this a bit serious i have a laugh you hate it - im sorry pleese spank me im a bad boy, im having a laugh you dont understand the concept you are like a few others on this forum who like serious debates about the possabilities of incorporating a mosfet amp into the phone taking into concidoration the uses of the pre-in and the use of the preamp and mabe how the trebble bass cut filters could use a different path on the circuit bord as not to cause i nterference with the signal - lighten up and have a laugh with us realy
anyway no more responces from me im going to play with my band.
(not in the way your thinking;) ) lol [joke]

Think about this...
If you have a hint that the joke is not being taken well, and the person you are talking to seems serious... does a disclaimer at the bottom matter
like slap someone and say sorry
and here at the bottom of my post:
dont try to be too funny, not everyone appreciates it for ever. Judge the moment

@ getagrip15 well done mate, i think its good that people like you are trying these things out... if it doesnt work o well, u ruined a spare battery, so what?!
if it does work...great

i dont like carrying a purse around with me and what with me being female my pockets often arent big enough to carry one round if i want to

so its good to know i have another way of carrying my duo
@ ev1lted why you puttin getagrip15 down??? hes just trying something out...if you dont like it then dont bother wasting your time reading/ replying to his posts? try and be a bit more mature about it

@ a_p_a_n_d_e_y and spora.... thanks. good to see some support:) From what I've read, even it i did somehow put a whole in the battery, it's not gonna explode or smoke or and of that nonsense. Lith-poly batteries don't do that. The only risk i can see is if i had a faulty battery in the first place, and it leaked. in that case, i don't think the plastic casing would do much better at protection than the electircal tape. anyway, it works for me, and spora, it sounds like it might be something you could use too. I'll continue monitoring it and see how it goes.

@getagrip15
Thanks for testing out your theories. I'll be watching to see what happens with it. I've been looking for away to put my duo in with the P900 (or even case) as I don't carry a wallet and prefer not to carry one in my pockets.
It's interesting to see what you've done and if they're are no deleterious side effects the process might be refined to be quite useful for people like me.

Come on guys. Enjoy the moment. Tell me how many of us would have come up with the solution that elv1td came up with huh? .. same with the guy to filed the battery .... very few .... isnt it just great to have such people around you generating ideas and going places where no one would even dare to? ... atleast i feel like that.
