hehehe! we all have done this same complaint when we tried for the 1st time the k700
when you listen to the ringtone (browsing)just press + button on the side of the phone,and when you receive a call the volume will be much louder than in browsing mode...

No itīs only you who got that problem. Go to the place where you bought the phone and claim a new one if itīs less than a week ago since you bought it.
Elsewere there are just to go to a service center.
K700 got wery clear and good sound

A litle trick regarding soundlevel
Attach the headset to your phone.
Hold the phone in your hands so you can see the display
Make a call to your homephone or something
While connected and still looking at the display press the volumebutton up to its loudest - you will see some volumebars on the display - when at its loudest pres the left key for save and disconnect the call.
Now detach the headset and try making a normal call.
When I first got my phone the max sound level was also to low when making calls no matter how much I tried to turn it up on the volumebuttons - the above procedure for some strange reason increased the max sound level alot and now its perfect.
Try it - might do they same on your phone.

The sound through the headset is great, as it is with the speaker, and I should have used the term Earphone as that is what it is called in the service menu. The volume of the earphone in the service menu is set to 4 which may be the reason. Could some of you check that too, is there any way of changing the settings in the service menu? Problem with returning is the phone is out of stock with all O2 stores as far as I can tell, so I am lumbered somewhat.

it has only 3 states :
full
half full
empty, it doesnt work li other SE phones on quarters..
Is it a sftwe bug t something is wrong with my phone

1) RTFM (read it or download one from the web)
2) do your homework and search (it helps.)
3) oh yeah, unbranded phones too removes some headaches IMO.

As I am not a 'loyal/die-hard' SE fone user, though have owned some models in the past, I am just wondering to the 'proliferation' of new SE fone models in the market
When the SE P800 was intoduced way back it took only less time (compared to their SOPs when releasing new models out in the market - in the past) when the SE P900 was introduced, honestly some were stunned to the very abrupt launching. Now, they have the K700/i model, then in a few month's time the SE S700/P910/Z1010 will be out as well. Now, my 'Q' is this, don't you think that this very latest 'move' of SE of releasing new fone models results to it's inadequateness and to the extent, loses/compromising the quality control of such fone
Looks like they are following the footsteps of Nokia of releasing more and more fone models out in the market that's why they have the biggest share in the pie of handheld mobile fones quarterly sales as of the moment
Ironically, with the latest move of SE, their sales are up at the latest reports, wherein Nokia's falling as unexpected
. . . In a nutshell, the so-called "Quality Control" is being compromised here as to the result of SE's proliferation of new fone models - resulting to software problems or as many calls the - bug !
