Short sighted or what?
I just came home from Germany with some new experience of Siemens S65, M65 and some other handsets and I can tell you already now that I totally disagree in those good things you wrote about S65.
The K700i feels like a claculator? maybe a luxury one because my Casio a graph calculator is bigger and far more plastic than that.
The resolution is worse to the Siemens S65, just face it!
Bigger display doesn't necessarly mean better resolution and I hope
you are totally aware of that.
Visible display of K700i:
2.9x3.6cm = 10.44
I'm not sure here actually
3.2x4.0cm = 12.8
K700i's resolution:
176x220 = 38720
S65's resolution:
132x176 = 23232
38720/10.44 = 3708
23232/12.8= 1815
K700i dots/sq.cm = 3708
S65 dots/sq.cm = 1815
Wow!! more than
twice as many dots per sq.cm.
Colours are dull due to it's "low" resolution in comparison to K700i and the colour transition is really not as good as the one in the K700i. K700i with squeaking body? you must been joking, this is not Nokia or Siemens. MP3 is not important but still you enlighting the importance in having expandable slot, what's the point?. Going for a photo tour with your S65? High preferences to MP3 but totally the opposite regarding photos? I said to myself before I bought my K700i that I will not use the mp3 function or the radio function because I have that in my MP3-player and that was useless I thought. It would be stupid to not use those functions you pay for. Functions are there and those functions are good. MP3 playback as well as radio are surprisingly good and I use those functions more than I expected. Battery time is not an issue for me. My K700i last at least three days with a few hours of radio per day.
Nevertheless, I have to admit that I think S65 looks better than the K700i but I also wish it could be smaller
I know it is hard to admit flaws of one thing you really like, it is the same for me but I'm definitely not that short sighted.
One last thing, I accept your choice of course.

This thread isn't big and I took my time to read it from the beginning before I wrote my last post and your last post just shows how short sighted or should I say biased you are... *sigh*
I have never ever said anything bad about expandable slot and I would love to see it in K700i but you can't get everything, at least you get more with Sony Ericsson K700i than you do with Siemens S65.
No idea to argue with you because you have decided already, I just wanted to make you to think different but it is Simens S65 for you.

me short sighted and bias? maybe you mate. remember, you are in esato and youre defending K700i maybe because you owned one and again its my decision and never could i get more with K700i (not SE, K7 only bcoz i have t68 and t610 and 630 before).
you say: Short sighted or what?

If these are your experiences with S65 then bad for you, i had a differenet one. and yes id payed for S65 not having an Mp3 because it is not that important. for me if a phone is a camera phone ill use the memory for the pictures. im not saying mp3s a bad idea for phone but its a matter of taste.
and about the sqeaking body, the wet looking keypad? im not joking man. maybe thats my bad experience with K700.\
im still an SE user and waiting for a K700 with mem slot.
PEACE

welcome to the world of SE. me, i bought the S65 because i like it and didnt experience any bugs for now....i hope. battery last for 72hours on normal usage...more text less call, lots of playing...im in Asia. the feel of S65 is very similar with T630 when holding but a little taller and thicker.

Well the S65 plays wave files, you can use these for ringtones, or any alert. I never use my P900 as a music player, I like mp3 ringtones, so surely it would just be a case of converting to wave file and edit accordingly for ringtones on the S65. I'm getting 1 on tuesday, still keeping my P900, T630 and my wife user a K700. I'm an SE and siemens fan. Having tried both phones I like them both. I still have my Siemens sl45i for mp3s anyway! Got a Siemens sl55 so as you can see I'm a big fan of both makes.

Siemens has always been the next brand I look at when I cant find what I need at SE. The S65 caught my fancy when first announced. Shame though its not a symbian smartphone.
