As far as handsets go, look at these links:
http://www.t-mobile.com/products/default.asp

As you can see, we're offered shitty phones and charged outragous prices for them. I checked O2 and Vodafone and you're being offered (in the UK anyway) nicer, feature-rich phones at better prices.
The three links are the three GSM providers in the US. For example, the Nokia 6600 (or 6620) is pretty much the nicest handset we have available right now. And it costs like 300.00 USD! What is that shit?
Americans just won't buy nice phones because they won't use them. I spent 950.00 USD on a P900 before they were even available in the US, but still almost a year later no carrier offers this phone and I would be shocked if they ever do offer it.

AT&T had the P800 in their lineup. Only online though. But they discontinued offering it at the beginning of the year.

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. I never saw it on the site though. The best PDA phone they offer now is a Treo 600, which really doesn't compare in my opinion.

@richy240
$950 is around £700! That's an awful lot of money for a P900!

Yeah, no shit. My laptop was only about 200.00 USD more.
But I really wanted a P900. If I had it to do again I would - its the best & most useful device I've had.

Stupid.
No, just kidding. I don't know... Those only seem popular with that demographic. I don't know anyone who has one of those. It is a two-way pager... A text-only device.
They're popular with blacks for some reason.
