Again, (because this is really bothering me), WHY IS IT NOT FREE??? I only get free internet acess when it's in its cradle (because it connects through my pc i'd assume...) and then the little GPRS globe down the bottom doesn't pop up. But when it does, I am charged.... WHY???

I can use pop3 email with on problem on P900 and on K700 but it is not free unfortunately.
I don't think it's possible to use instant messenger on o2 PAYG though as it doesn't allow the proper access.
I'll try post the email setup later

No, not sure, but if you could somehow get your pop3 email service to "forward" all emails to your o2 account, people could still send emails to your old account, and you'll be able to get them on your mobile. That's all I can really think of, but if it IS pop3, I'm sure that there are programs for your PC that recive the email then re-send it to another email address... That's what I was planning to do anyway, but it turns out Gmail doesn't support pop3 or anything....
