Hi.
I have firmw. R2AE033
and i use USB handset manager.
My problem is that i cant transfer the .dm file to the phone.
the guide say to the root dir. but what the hell is that, i've tried to transfer the .dm file everywhere on the phone, from the filemanager, and it just says "This file is not allowed to be updated to the handset!"
how can i get the .dm file on to the phone? any suggestions welcome?

@all
Did anyone ever find out the new link for the DRM Packager so I can update the initial post?

Can someone please email it to me ...

or put the link up.
As I can find the link I would appreciate it being emailed to me.
Thanks

DRM Packager is here:
http://sethxp.com/index-3a.html
From other forums this seems to work on othe SE phones but not on my SE S700 phone (or the k700 from what I've read...this seems to require mp3 files to be in a 'protected' .dcf file.....Can't seem to find a converter for this anywhere...anybody any ideas?..If I make my own music - why can't I use them as a ring tone....me not a happy bunny

Like speedster I want to use mp3 as ringtones on my vodafone k700i and have a mac. I can send and play files no problem, the use function is disabled. Also how do I know what version of software my phone is running?
Cheers

when i did this i just created DRM content and the converted files were sent directly to my phone i didnt have to do anything. i then deleted the old ones from my fone to save memory and have now realised that the .DM files cannot be sent by bluetooth or other means is that normal

nice guide cybervisitor. works for me.
you might want to update the original post though. i had to find the drm packager somewhere else since the sony ericsson website no longer publishes it. i found it here

I'm glad this guide is still usefull. About the broken link, yes, I'm aware that Sony Ericsson has removed the application. If people do a search, I'm sure they find the application though

ah shucks... i need R2V001. can listen to them on mediaplayer now but can't set as ringtones.
by the way, how do i go about upgrading to R2V001? oh i see... downloading off the sony ericsson site.
by the way, what numpty i am. i didn't even know what model phone i was using. haha... don't flame me for that. i just realised you were referring to the k700i whilst i'm using the k750i. as you can tell, i'm no phone whizz... how can i find out what my phone's current firmware is?
looking at this thread, i think my mobile's firmware is R1C004.
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=92737 so do you know if i still need to upgrade to the R2V001, knowing it's a k750i now?
by the way, i don't think the sony ericsson site has any firmware updates for the k750i
