I think that Laffen should of changed the whole screen colour saying it the Christmas season.

Remember; Not all Esato members celebrate X-mas.
There is members here from all sorts or religions and cultures.
I think a bit of snow is a very diplomatic way of indicating the season.

And there are even countries without snow..
