sometimes its down to the individual and how sensitive they are. ive been on the board for a couple of years. however i aint that well know as i dont post a lot i just enjoy reading the threads. i have no problem and never have with putting my views forward but then i dont in real life. perhaps some people would struggle in real life when asking questions and joining in.
thats not to say some people arent a bit ott with how they act but on the whole i find esato a friendly place.
i also think you have to take into account that everyone has to use english and its not everyones first laungue and some are better than others at it. soemtimes what may appear to be an aggresive answer may just be that the person in question can phrase the answer in any better way as its not there first language.

I wonder who ?

AND I use google to search esato.

As long as you put esato and whatever you are looking for - google wlill pick it up

@wapchimp

Jolly good idea.

@slattery69

Indeed, I have made similar points about the language problem before. Interestingly enough, some of Esato's most active members are from countries where English isn't a first language.

I also find the definitions we create rather interesting too. Different people seem to have different ideas of what constitutes a 'veteran', although everyone seems to agree on what constitutes a newbie.

@SB

I think this whole issue is one that is/should be dealt with by the Mods

i don;t see the need for a description like 'veteran' in the first place. It's a hollow word after all

I agree 100% with Vlammetje and it immediately creates a "class" distinction which then distinquishes certain members from other members whereas in fact we are all the same... i.e. members!

As long as we treat the newbies fairly, and that is a task of everyone, then I do not see any action necessary.

This thread will go a long way to turning around Esato's snooty reputation. Flaming newbies is not nice or clever. They should all be given a warm welcome. This message was posted from a T610

veteran members mostly have alot of knowhow on mobile phones.
when they come to easto they want to discusse the newest and most advanced stuff. but they see alot of newbies posting questions and stuff like that. so it takes some time to find what they are looking far. so they get irritated by the new posters, thats why some veterans give newbies such a hard time.

i myself am a veteran and i'm abit like that 2. but i don't go flaming newbies are people that post the same stuff over and over again. when i can and feel like it i'll help. buy mainly my posts are focused on the new stuff, like new phones, advanced software, guessing what SE's market approches is and so one.

should there be something special for the veterans or people that are very much appriciated here? sure. maby a special thing under there nick name. they have the job to make the newbies feel home here. if they don't, they shouldn't have a special thing under there nickname.
thats what i would like.
