Hmmm . . . as I see it,

is 'definitely' goin' Nokia's way . . . As per 2004's results, they manage to release (market) - numerous fones which is not very 'ideal' of their (:se: 's) style in the past

@jojo
Well that isn't bad

need to have a range of phones
but they
musn't have too many
nokia have thousands of 150 pound and less phones,

only have about 3.

need to appeal to a range of users, but not overdo it like nokia!

@Boba
I disagree. This is called marketing. Not every market will like every phone or product. I do not like the cheaper end phones. They do not have the features that I generally desire. Also, I am an early adopter, thus I like to have the latest and greatest. SE is definitely targeting phones towards this market. The truth in between lies in the fact that with all things being equal different people with like different things regardless. In this case the common denominator are phones. The variables come into play when some people like cameras and some do not. Right here, you have two different market segments and two different market schemes. Should the phone manufactures simply decide for both by either selling phones with cameras or phones without, thus forcing their marketing strategy on the consumers? No. They make two models, with and without cameras. Everyone is happy in the end. Those that choose the cameras already know that they have a premium device and are willing to pay for this. Those without the camera are happy because they get their desired device at a price they seem as reasonable.

Hmmm... Nokia is flooding the market with phones, right? Whats wrong with that? I think it gives more options for the consumers.

No, but they aren't focusing on development like
who released first colour phone
who released first smartphone
who released the most advanced built in camera phone (t610) for its day:
who keeps on releasing new phones that wow us all?
Nokia can flood,

can think

@Whiz,
Nothing is wrong with Nokia's strategy, but if you are trying to protect your brand the worse thing you can do is flood any market. Do you see millions of Porsche, Daimlers, BMW's, or Ferrari's around? No. By having smaller numbers, you can charge a higher price and keep the brand as something special. In India, Nokia is going for the quick sell. There is nothing special about their brand there.
Also, most Nokia phones, as I have seen and reviewed them are the same, except with some minor differences. SE, or E before the S part has always made better phones than Nokia. Remember, only about 12 or so years ago, Ericsson almost bought Nokia.
