It happens on my phone. It is because of the really sharp and thin stylus tip used in the p800. The glass under the plastic layer is scratched, and no amount of cleaning the top layer will get rid of scratches on the glass layer.
I have just kind of learned to live with the problem. All I know is that before this problem has any real affect on usability of the phone, I will have already have moved on to another phone.
Nevertheless, I'm planning to keep the p800 for ages and ages. For a 3 year old phone, I still haven't come across anyone who hasn't been overawed at the amount of functions my phone has. Not one persons phone have I looked at and said, I want that, because the p800 has always come out on top.
