Yeah, big bummer.

The thing is, SE expects you to backup your phone before you do the update, if you didn't have the Quickpoint app in your phone before, they should be offering the latest version in cases like this. But, to be honest, I never used it in the first place, as I have a hard time believing that I would actually want to look at a powerpoint presentation on a tiny screen, hell, I don't like to watch them on a projected screen being put on by a couple of sales droids from some tech company that we barely like using their cr@p in the first place.

I guess you just don't have any luck with the online seus. I didn't really have quickpoint installed (I installed it this afternoon just to see what is was and then removed it again from my phone, which still had cda R3A04 at that moment), did an update without a backup (the only important thing in my phone are my contacts which I luckily also have on my P800 with contact pictures!) and after the update everything is working like a charm.

The problem might be that there are conflicting items in the backup that you restore after an update if the cda of the update is a newer version than the one in the backup.

That's why I just "store" everything I need after the update on my computer and put it back on my phone afterwards. It's a time consuming task but then again you just wouldn't update would you?

Ofcourse you can also sync your phone with i.e. Outlook before and after the update, that should restore most of your emails, tasks, notes and contacts. And for a quick restore you could always use the things saved on your ms-duo (pro), that's what I do with an old stick anyway because you can't fit two sticks in your phone.

I haven't tried updating with the dss-25 yet, but with the dss-20 it works like a charm on Windows xp2 with Mozilla 1.8b1 and Sun Java 5.0 update 1. Tomorrow I'll try to update some of my friends' phones to see how that works out.

Has anyone managed to get BB to work with this unit yet? At least on the internet email side?

I have the BB desktop software and the BB client software. However, despite the configuration descriptions found in the P910i BB installation guide I'm having no luck. Anyone????

mine got stuck at 52%, remained like that for 5 minutes, then jumped to 77% and everything went fine and dandy.

Just did the update for 162005/3 and the phone feels sluggish and the thumbnails for pics look vague. something the p900 suffered from after an update as i remember.

So should I upgrade it or not? If results shows slowness and all that crap I would really hate to upgrade my phone. Any suggestions?

New firmware has finally been released for the North American and South American versions of the P910. I will be upgrading tonight.

small side question: do you have to re-pair your bluetooth devices after the upgrade?
