With the 'X' application the problem is that you need to sacrifice a position in the flip open top bar to use it for closing the current app in foreground. Other programs do the same using a better approach.

depends on the user. I actually prefer the approach in X. If I want to see an actual list of all tasks I just use sman which has added functionality.
