The Davinci manual says: "Firts fill in your username and password as recived from your supplier. Without these there is no way to unlock or service your phone."

Will Vodafone actually give me this information or is there a generic/master username that will also work?

This is not as straightforward as I expected it to be!

No worries. You will not lose your credit until it downloads the files and flashes your phone. Also the guys from Da Vinci are sometimes slow but they are helpful.

I'm still confused? Is that a "yes" to Vodafone giving me the information? What "credits" are you talking about?

Would it be better to get all the information I need directly from DaVinci?

@Ruudfood

User name and password will be given to you by the supplier of the credits. Then you can flash/unlock ect...

@ Ruudfood

I think there is some slight confusion here. Credits does not refer to the credit you buy if you are on PAYG. It is nothing to do with your network. In order to use the DaVinci application, you have to buy what are called credits. You'll need 1 for each action, e.g. 1 to flash, 1 to unlock, etc.

Ahhh right! I get it now. Please excuse my ignorance. I did say I was new to all this.

I've emailed DaVinci so hopefully they'll get back to me.

Thanks for your help and, most of all, patience!

The Da vinci guys are good but sometimes slow. So I will try to explain this to you now.

The credits that we refer to has nothing to do with your phone operator and only to do with Da Vinci.

If you want to flash your phone, it costs one credit. To unbrand it, also costs one credit, so to do two both flashing and unbranding costs to credits.

No worries dude. We are here for you. I have been there and I know it can be somewhat confusing at first.

since when does it cost 2 credits to flash/debrand?
i think you are wrong. Cause what u are doing is updating your GSM with the unbranded firmware and that only costs u 1 credit.

I buy my credits from these guys, no problems you have the "name" and "password" emailed back to you straight away, within minutes.

DaVinci can be slow waiting for them to come back.
