mib1800, I think you underestimate the java applications! I have a K750 and I have a lot of interesting apps!
How can you get bored if you have a MSN app, Mail Client App, HTML browser app, a lot of games, and so on... You can even get a GPS app if you want.
I don't see the real advantages of a smartphone over a java phone, except for a pdf or doc reader... Tell me, really!

wait for the W800i
leigh
why wait for the W800i? it has a few extra modes and comes with a larger memory stick, not worth spending $150 or more for it, the K750i or W800i isn't even to good for an MP3 player because it doesn't offer to many format types, MP3 and aac??? i guess aac is good for for mac users but what about us windows users, we need wma playback!! haha, k750i is the way to go!

Objections.... i have series 60 smartphones since 3650... before that i've tried my girlfriend's 7650. even i have membership from applicaton shop that updates every they had a new app. beside that i've buy a lot of symbian app compilation in a disc. smartmovie, handyfile, handydate, agile messenger, alot of ngage cracked game, psiloc screensaver, gameboy emulator, etc etc... on my 1gb mmc. i'm still boring. still when i'm watching movie/listening mp3 one thing i don't like abt series 60.. they have teribble speaker. also u cannot recieve a big files via irda & bluetooth. bigger than it's "small" internal storage.
i've noticed n 7610, 6670, have a problm when u typing message when it passed 160 character. it becomes soo slowww... when entering text.

MsdriveE.sis will allow you to save large files directly to the card when transferring via bluetooth.

obviously people will say get an SE as this is a SE forum. I own both and think they are both great in their own ways.
Its all down to how or what you will be using the phone for.

java prog are mostly games. You cannot change or expand the base functionalities of the phone with java. The real power of smartphone is in the multi-tasking and running of background services. It is not only just about pdf and doc reader as most who are not familiar with smartphone thinks.
With smartphone, you can get programs to:-
1. replace your built-in calendar/voice recorder/camera/video recorder/input method with a more powerful one
2. change profile/wallpaper/settings based on calendar entries keywords or time setting
3. monitor your incoming call - answer/reject/auto voice record/auto-sms a reply etc
4. video player with one that allows you to play fullscreen in avi, divx, dvd format and subtitles.
5. remotely activate your camera/recorder/settings via bluetooth or sms command.
these are only a very very small sample of what a smartphone can do. There are now thousands of programs which can do so much more.

well mib1800, then smartphones are quite useless for a majority of users! Who needs what you are talking about? Really, you're watching movies WITH SUBTITLES on a small mobile phone's screen? I occasionally watch a Simpson or Friends episode on my k750 but watching a full movie with subtitles? And the problem with smartphones is their poor battery performance... The rest of your 'advantages' don't convince me much either...
