joe this has been my thoughts all along, ive posted the question several times but it seems to have either been missed or ignored completely! I'd really love someone who is muslim themself to give a proper answer to this question.

@joebmc. I think because they propagate a culture of fear with their teachings. Like the placard shakers, they use words like 'behead' and 'annihilate' etc. Making people scared to death of them. Hardly words of peace are they? :-l This message was posted from a S700

And that’s why Muslims need to make a stand against them. There happy enough to stand against the “west” but when it comes to there own it’s a different matter.

USTARZAI, Pakistan - A suicide bomb ripped through a Shiite Muslim procession Thursday in northwestern Pakistan, sparking riots during the Muslim sect’s most important holiday. At least 22 people were killed and dozens injured, officials said

ISTANBUL - Istanbul’s police chief said a bomb blast on Thursday at an Internet cafe in the city had wounded 14 people.

“It’s a bomb explosion, there are 14 injured. One of them is seriously injured,” Celalettin Cerrah told reporters after visiting the Internet cafe where the blast occurred. Six of the injured were police officers, he said

Hezbollah supporters chant "death to America, death to Israel" during a religious rally in Beirut, Lebanon, Thursday that focused on the caricature controversy. Several hundred thousand people attended the rally.

“Defending the prophet should continue worldwide,” Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, told the crowd. “Let (U.S. Secretary of State) Condoleezza Rice, (President) Bush and all the tyrants shut up: We are a nation that can’t forgive, be silent or ease up when they insult our prophet and our sacred values.”

“Today, we are defending the dignity of our prophet with a word, a demonstration but let George Bush and the arrogant world know that if we have to ... we will defend our prophet with our blood, not our voices,” Nasrallah added.

EDIT: What have israel got to do with this cartoon business? Evidence I think that some factions are using this unrest to further their own gains.

they use words like behead and annihale because the Arabic language for example is direct and passionate.

For example, we dont have the word "Like", we only have 'Love', and dont forget, English is not the first language. So the words they use are what is closest to what they feel they mean.

When my Japanese girlfriend says "It is 'the' delicious" (of course I correct her) but she doesn't even mean it's delicious, she just means it tastes nice not that it's extremely delicious.

@goldenface, there ARE internal conflicts. You just dont know about them. READ the news.

To everyone. I've seen quite a few posts saying "Why don't Muslims stand up?" "Why don't we see good news" and stuff like that.

It's simple, you DON'T watch Arabic, Turkish, any Islamic nation's news.

Oh so there are mass protests by muslims against extremists then? Why dont there every demostright in public like there extremists?
(taking about within the uk)

"Violent, extremist Islamists invoke on their own head the true jihad. Challenging all the peoples of the Earth, and first of all traditional Islam, professed by the overwhelming majority of the Islamic world, these forces put themselves in opposition to Islam. And reacting against them is a religious, moral, social and political duty of each Muslim."

joe, for once in this thread, stop thinking like a person who's against Islam and like someone who's not against it. (note: I didn't say with it)

I'll explain it as if you were my baby sister.

There are 10 people. They are in a shopping mall. 3 are saying "I'm going to kill you". A bystander films this and shows this to the police.

The police think "These 10 are bad", when the the other 7 didn't do such a thing.

The police says, Why were you with them then. They say "we all wanted to go to the same place". (A group Muslims all wanted to protest the cartoon, some were exteremly angry, some were extremists themselves and some were simply marching.)

Amnesia, if you were one of those 7 people would you try and stop the other 3 or would you stand by and watch, doing nothing?

Also care to explain why this has not recieved mass coverage and the blatant hypocrisy it presents.

http://english.aljazeera.net/[....]CAB-40AF-88F9-55A086FEE1E8.htm

Two Thai rap CDs featuring a song containing verses from Islam's holy book have been recalled from stores after local Muslims complained that the track insulted their faith, distributor Sony BMG said.

An article on the Thai-language Muslim website, www.muslimthai.com, said the song "clearly insults the Quran ... the Quran strictly forbids the use of its verses in songs".

Nithi Hasan, president of the Council of Muslim Organisations of Thailand said it agreed with complaints received in recent days, saying in a telephone interview: "We don't think it was appropriate -we don't agree with this. He shouldn't do this."

He said it was good that Joey Boy apologised and the matter would probably be closed.
