We have argued this for ever!!! I think I finally won!!
Check the SE and Edge thread and part of the W810 thread!
3G is obviously way better but EDGE is quit a good substitute to countries with no 3G but support edge!
In this case Ill definatley take the K800 over the K790 coz they the same size!! but wud have like it to support both Edge and 3g!!

Even better 3g.co.uk are claiming that its only a few weeks away meaning May or even late April. Unlikely but they also say you can pre order it now. Expansays also allow you to pre order it.

My best guess is to stop people ripping the charger cable out of the phone without snapping it forwards like you're supposed to, accidentally when pulling on the charger cable.
I've done it a few times with my charger, because the cable comes straight down out of the connector once or twice ive stood on the cable and its pulled the charger out without snapping it forwards. They probably put the cable to the side so that it doesnt rip the connector out of the phone.
It was the same with my 3.5mm adaptor, it broke because of that reason. Ive been lucky so far that my charger didnt break a pin, possibly down to SE using better plastics which will take more stress than my brittle 3.5mm adaptor.
