Thanks Silver for sharing your experience about the battery life. For those who do not understand why we are complaining about battery life issues in latter firmwares here is a personal example of mine. This is an example of how strong the battery was on my snowboarding trip:

*Firmware: R1CA029, Battery started at 100% fully charged

- Day 1: Left for trip at 4am
- Day 1: Listened to Walkman while snowboarding (7 hours)
- Day 1: Took pictures throughout trip (about 10 shots)
- Day 1: Made/Received short calls on the Mountain, and in the car (Less than 5 minutes, more than 5 calls)
- Day 1: Played games for 40 minutes in the car
- Day 1: Day ends battery at 40%, no charging

- Day 2: Took pictures at tour site (20 shots, used camera on and off 40mins)
- Day 2: Made/Received couple short calls in the car (Less than 5 minutes, more than 5 calls)
- Day 2: End of trip, got home at 10pm with the battery showing 4%remaining

**I went through these two days on a single charge. I know I can't get anywhere near this amount of battery power no matter how efficiently I use my w910i.

I understand people are not happy about the lag, and that was also the primary reason I upgraded to R1EA030 hoping for a solution. I would've never upgraded my firmware If I knew the tradeoff was permanetly lose 1/2 of the battery power capabilities. I just hope SE's next firmware solution is not "Lag free interface and charge your phone every 12 hours."

Like TJC, I previously had the R1CA029 when i purchased the phone in November last year and has kept it till yesterday. The day before, the phone kept on restarting every 2 minutes or so, even if I left it on standby. So then i decided to update it, despite all those comments about the battery life.

Im now on the R1EA030, and so far I havent experienced any problems at all, infact i must say I'm quite happy i got rid of the stupid laggy R1CA029 and moved on to this firmware.

However for some reason, I'm not experiencing the battery draining bug? Battery life so far seems to be the same as the previous firmwares.

i never had any issues with the phone (except if i press the wallkman button and shake 20 times the phone may restart,or when charging sometimes i can get a few bugs). but all the walkman not working and cannot acces games menu stuff i never had them, the phone does have bugs and may lag when walkman is playing music minimised but i cant say i have any major issues with my phone before and after update.

my phone is cellcom branded (IL)

i also hope there will be a new firmware released

Well, you will found out soon. When you have use the phone with this firmware..
I shall stay with "R1CA039 " or downgrade to it again with davinci, coz I'm going to travel soon.. Don't real want recharge it after only 2 or 3 days ..

R1CA039 was stable enough for me, no crashes at all, but R1CA029 was not real good at all..

Thanks Zeneticx for the tip, but for some reason SE Update Service still shows that I am using the latest version firmware R1EA030. I have read many comments on the R1EA033 and some say it's only available for certain regions, while others say that it is only for brand/unbranded w910i's.

I can't find an explanation in regard to why some report good battery performance when using the same R1EA030 firmware. The SEUS customer rep told me that the only difference between firmwares in different regions are the language packs... don't tell me the language pack is eating my battery, I am only using English that is bs.

Congratulations to those that are having great performance on your firmwares. I strongly hope in the next firmware update SE will offer a significant improvement to balance both performance and power issues in our w910i's.

To SilveR: I found a solution to the battery drain issue for our W910i... which is... get a quarter and look for a pay phone! hahah

Yeah I have updated mine to R1EA033 thru SEUS a couple weeks ago, after having R1EA030. The battery indeed seems better, especially with BT enabled all day with moderate stereo bluetooth headset usage for listening to music/talking.

It also seems to freeze less.

I'm gonna try with mine again via SEUS later, if R1EA033 is there, I'm also still on R1EA030

Mine is also simfree..

But I did notice I did upgraded to the R1EA033 first , there was H icon available via connection 3g/GSM. Because of the battery drains so fast on mine I did retry to update my phone via SEUS, then I got suddenly R1EA030, and there is no "H" icon at all.. but battery still drains fast..

Will to a try later today... Hope there is new firmware available

I must say that i do love how you guys are complaining that your still on EA033. I'm stuck on R1DA038, and t-mobile branding to match. Is there anyone on T-Mobile UK that has managed to update higher, because its seriously not funny.
