iPhones multitask well I can keep several apps open and go back
To them where I left eg podcasts if dint listen to all you can resume
Later on same with a lot of apps!!!

Only thing I've noticed if u forget to frequently update ur iCloud
Business eg. games then when you have to reset then u have to
Replay the game again updating ur iCloud is essential on these
Yes I'm using my iphone right now

But thats not multitasking. Thats saving the state of the app, closing it and then opening it again. Then resuming in its state.

It doesnt keep running properly in the background.

Keeping stuff running in the background
Uses a lot of data
( hence why people without unlimited data keep complaining bout large bills )
Plus sluggish phones is another culprit of that!

On iphones I can have lots of various apps running in the background
Athough took me ages to solve how to close apps
Properly once using them I worked out:

By pressing home button twice all apps
Are shown on the screen which are running
U can also swipe this to get access to music and volume
Control dunno if You knew this already etaab?! Lol

The iCloud is very handy I think shame not compatible
For android ( ages to setup phone if at loss lol )

Miss UK!!!!

Examples of multi-tasking apps that aren't using INTERNET DATA:
- profile based on cell location, GPS
- archive extractor.. for example, while you extract something from an archive you may want to write a message or something.
- copy something. same as above ^
- etc

These things can be done on Android stock with no changes. iPhones multi-task is limited by proprietary apps and by different APIs

Yeah i was just about to say, whats multitasking got to do with networking ? Like i said above, my sisters app cannot track her run unless its left on screen all the time. If she presses the menu button on her iPhone to reply to a text for example, it pauses the app and stops tracking her. Multitasking applies to many apps and functions or features of a smartphone.

What you're seeing on your iPhone is the OS simply pausing apps and resuming them quickly. Very quickly and impressively. Which is fine, but when the processes stop and do not carry on with what they were doing causes people like me problems. Oh and those apps you see that continue running, like a phone call or the iPod music player, they're core apps which come built into the phone and therefore Apple allows them to function at the same time.

Which is sad, because for people like me and many others i know its a silly hinderance which stops us buying iPhones. I really do not understand why Apple do not allow proper multitasking in their phones - maybe someone could give me an answer who's really into iOS.

I am surprised no one has gleefully rushed in here to report on the Do not disturb bug?
I don't know what's going on with Apples software testing but they always get caught out with these data based bugs, my do not disturb feature just went wonky on new years day

Well i for one am very critical of how Apple operates as a company and some of the flaws in their products, but a simple software bug which is fixed with a firmware update isnt much to whinge about unless it affects you in a really bad way.

I sadly see them every day of the week here in the UK.

Mind you, im glad people have them rather than dull feature phones. Thats one area i thank Apple for probably being responsible for killing off dull phones.
