Nice article by the verge about sony's situation: "There's more than one Sony — the other is Google":
http://www.theverge.com/2015/[....]n-one-sony-the-other-is-google
i agree that one of sony's problems is that there is not really "one sony" like kaz want people to think. it's a pity. i hope sony mobile brand stays and they outdo themselves and begin to make profit soon.

japanese, chinese where's the difference? It's all asian
I love stereotyping
BTW: Looking at recent handsets announced/rumored specs the main difference between 2014 and 2015 major flagships is the 64bit soc. Like XJ already said I hope that Sony has something "special" to offer like Asus did with optical zoom.

So far no new phone yet on FCC except the E4.
In other news, Sony Canada is closing all of its Sony stores in the country.

@ascariss - that sucks about Sony shutting down their stores, I've a gut feeling thats the next stage. Its sad because I love walking into my local Sony Store and playing with their gadgets. Sad thing is there is never much people in it. What annoys me when I was in Sydney, I walked past the Apple Store and that was full in which I have no idea why, but i think because some ifans think they are hip to hang out in their little nest lol

In other news ... Sony is closing all it's Canadian Retail Stores.
^ doesn't bode well for newer devices yet it makes perfect sense:
Carrier partnerships lock in multi-unit sales for Xperia lineup of smartphones; no more incentive to overstock a single item unit - especially those that simply don't sell.
PS3/PS4 has many partner vendors that are authorized for sale across N.Ameria - these include BestBuy, FutureShop, Target (whom is also closing it's horrible loosing retail chain across Canada; no brainer here).
This is just a optimal financial move; I expect retail stores in the USA to follow.

^^yea.. a lot of Sony Style stores have closed in my area as well. I was sad to find out they closed the one near me. Will have to go a bit further to the other one.. before it will probably close too.

no surprise, since I live in Canada, I never have good experience here in any of the Sony store I have been to, used to be 4 in the city. I rather go to best buy to buy a Sony tv than sony store. However, the Sony online store here in canada is amazing, I ordered the Z2, and Z ultra both with some coupon errors 100 bucks off each and all of them were honored no queston asked and their standard shipping was always shipped with expedited and arrive in 1 day. Online is the way to go for a lot of store these days, even best buy and future shop were having trouble here in Canada. I am surprise Samsung even bother to open open a retail chain here, every time I walked by the place is as dead as Sony store and their setup is even more lame. Expect them to go eventually once Samsung smarten up with marketing budget. MS store has some people, but its in the biggest mall in the country but most people are either buying xbox or do windows shopping.
