That is a keyboard that has the Z where the Y is on a Qwerty kb and the Y is where the Z is. Used in Germany. And there are other German specific letters on it.

Yeah, you're right
I thought QWERTZ was a typo. Sorry Jabe, didn't know it was an actual keyboard format.

Yep that pretty much confirms what I heard from T-Mobile. IF the X1 is any good (I am going to wait till Nov to see how buggy it is and how long before the slider gets slack before I buy) I may be forced to move back to Vodafraud.

This is insane! it's like a intel PIII PC upgraded with lots of ram (384Mb that time is huge imo) seems like it can run windows 98 on it
If there is a virtual machine software on Windows Mobile I think Xperia X1 can run windows 98 with its 528MHz CPU, 384MB Ram and 8GB microSDHC card.
and even XP i guess. XP requires
300Mhz CPU and 128Mb RAM and X1 passed all of it

hopefully the guys at xda developers could create an X86 virtual machine to run it
Nope XP won't be able to run on X1 since it requires a little over 1GB of hard disk space to run. They could've made X1 with at least 8GB of internal space if you ask me.

Why would anyone want to run a desktop OS on a pocket device anyhow? Just for kicks or something?

That is for the purpose of boasting your friends that your cellphone is so powerful that it can run XP on it
As far as i recall there was a mock up windows XP program designed for WM and i was a little surprised with it. it emulates XP nicely

can anyone tell me the name of that program? I also found that there is a UIQ 2.0 version of it on youtube, sadly that youtube video is no longer existing

What kind of goodies do you think Sony Ericsson is going to add to the X1 package?
From the webcast, I heard something about a full length movie? maybe an 8GB MicroSDHC?

or is that just wishful thinking?
I bloody well hope they don't include an 8GB MicroSD. Because I will still have to buy a memory card: the 16gig's have been available for weeks now and the 32gig ones are coming in about a month (apparently)

16gb have been announced for 'weeks', not released..... they have only recently been released onto the market.
and 32gb soon? you will be waiting until next yr
if it actually happens, an 8gb micro sd inclusion is much better than nothing at all, or a 1 or 2gb, so dont complain.
