Some thoughts on the hissing issue:
- Using external speaker it's clearly noticeable, but only if you have the phone really close to the ear and you have the music paused or at the lowest possible volume. But then you can't hear the music (for any practical purpose) anyway
- Using handsfree, I can't notice it unless it's completely silent around me.
Here's my theory why the hissing has increased:
As you may have noticed, the maximum volume has been increased. The only way to do this is to increase the gain of the amplifier. But since the gain obviously is fixed (the volume is adjusted digitally), you will also get increased noise since the s/n-ratio is hardware-dependent and cannot be enhanced through firmware-upgrade.
The amplifier is not turned off unless you exit mediaplayer, that may explain why the battery is draining quicker even if the music is paused.

@SE7
You have been using the K750 since april 2005? Ok, then you must be included in the SE hardware testing group and therefore I don't know why you don't report to your team instead of burping your bad breath here...
...you see, the K750 was released worldwide may 23 2005 - not one day earlier! Don't even try to make up a sad story about you knowing someone who knows someone else who actually have an inside connection to the truck driver from the SE factory who managed to sneak out one especially for YOU
Relax, we all get your point ... R1AA008 is good for everyone except you

Your R1N035 was perfect and now your phone is totally screwed with R1AA008 and holds all the bugs from the R1N035 firmware even though you never had those problem ... eh?
UPDATE: I see you registered at Esato may 23 2005 - I'll bet it was the same day as you bought your K750 since that was the release date

not april 2005 as you said

nope, he is not alone with HISSING SOUND of ear speaker. What so good in r1aa008, if ms bug is still present and now one more serious bug? now i have to listen to that noise almost every call. So, for me R1L (and i think i'm not the only one) is still the best firmware for k750, even R1N035 is better!

Updated done(In France) with SEUS2 for my K750.
- When the update is finished, the SEUS2 haven't told me that the update is finished and that i can now switch of the phone from the computer.
SEUS2 just come back to the START MENU.
- My Software versions isn't
ITP CXC 125 932 R1D/E
but is
ITP CXC 125 932 R1B
- Navigation seems faster than R1N035.

@serg
Hissing sound in ear speaker when making calls? Then I'm sorry for the mistake because I thought it was a discussion about the hissing sound when playing mp3 sound files in low volume as people reported a problem with using firmware R1N035.
Ok, I have this hissing sound in the ear speaker when making calls as well. I thought of the following scenario though: Since the volume is much louder now, the hissing is due to that AND (at least in my case) it's noticable only when turning the volume down. When loud, there's no hissing. So it's a common problem?
Did anyone read the Swedish article that SE recently changed hardware for the K750 which changed the SAR value from 0.69 to 0.99? SE refuses to tell what is changed, but if you look at the web site for the K750 you'll see for yourselves that the value now is set to 0.99.
Suppose it's the higher volume that people been asking for so long that makes this hissing and that it only can be fixed using hardware (and that's what's changed in the hardware now when the SAR value is higher in the new production of the K750)?
@SE7
My misstake - stupid post by me, and yes, it turned out it was "me" who didn't read as well as I should. But you must admit it: you bought your K750 may 23, not april

yes, i think it is more noticeable when volume of ear speaker is in middle-low position. But the real problem - sometimes some words will get "corrupted" and i have to reask other side what did he say. I newer had that before with firmwares J, L or N, the first call i received with r1aa008 had that problem, i was thinking it was network problem, but now i have that problem almost every call

I upgrade to R1aa firmware too.......
- noticed the letters in sms is smaller now.......can fit in more characters in the display.
- Volume during calls is way louder now
- I noticed the Contrast has been modified to improve screen image quality ........but only for a moment.........then it returned to previous contrast setting after a period of time.............sometimes when I turn off the phone and turn it back on ..........I will noticed a better contrast setting............sometimes not.......weird! Anyone noticed that ???

I've noticed something different with the R1AA008 firmware...
Before (with R1N035) i was able to browse the content on the Memory Stick via bluetooth and windows. But now, with this new R1AA008 i can only access the 'Phone Memory' when browsing files via bluetooth. Has anyone else noticed this? Are any of you able to browse the Memory Stick via bluetooth with the R1AA008 firmware- i need to pinpoint what has caused this change, and whether or not it is down to the settings in XP.
