Indiatimes has been advertising P990 for 15K! Makes me slluurrppp
Was in a mobile shop yesterday, told me he had it for bout 18.5k. Asked why, said indiatimes is mostly dishing out "OLD"(?) models, while he has the newer one, with the later 'software'. Nagged him for a while bout the software thing, and that the f/w can be upgraded, but guy seemed firm bout it. Is it really so, or is he just trying to improve his margin? I dont know if a newer version of UIQ3/S9.1 has been added. Pl excuse my ignorance, i'm noob for ze P series
Pl do advice- Indiatmes or Retail shop or Sonyworld?

P990 at below 20k is a steal.i bought mine 9 months back for 35k.Indiatimes sells it for 16k...not sure.Theres no new newer version of software thats factory installed...anything new in software can be updated online.
I dont know about Indiatimes refurbishing old mobiles..do they??of is that guy bluffing??
When buying from non authorized dealer ,check that the phone is World generic 1 or 2 ...other versions are pain in the ass when updating...also beware of phones which are locked/branded...those also r a pain in the ass.
I would suggest u to get it from Sonyworld or any authorised dealers as having a warranty is safe IMO.U r assured that it is updatable and not locked/branded or refurbished(many are available...after users who didnt like it due to software problems and sold it a week after using).

Market price for P990 would be 18-19k officially.
Btw,W910,W960 and K850 will be announced soon....AH...can't wait any longer.
