Also, pretty pointless to talk about ST-Ericsson now as its probably not even gonna be around by 2014. And A9600 would not really be competitive even this year, let alone next.
A9600 - 2.5ghz x 2 x 4 = 20000 DMIPS or the same as APQ8064 in the Z
Even @ 3ghz it can only manage 24000 DMIPS.
MSM8974 will do around 32000+ DMIPS, Exynos 5 and T4 will do around 30000.
The GPU would be a different story though. Rogue 6 would have outperformed every single 2013 chip.
It does 100+ GLOPS compared to 75GFLOPS of competitors

The problem with that: Consumers do not care about processor performance. If you put two phones, one with the budget mediatek quad core and the A9600, consumers will choose the mediatek. They care about cores, not raw performance.

What do you think CPU will sony use in 2014 Flagship ? MSM8984 won't be ready ... MSM8974 won't be acceptable - at least for me - !

That really disappointing for me, I thought sony will be the first company to use MSM8974 for both 2H Flagship & Xperia Phablet
