Well guess I will go with iPhone this year. If Sony doesn't release a proper Z Ultra successor guess I'll never come back. Well hope you guys found what you were looking for from Sony this year. Cheers.

^for me the screen size is the driving force. So if I have to settle for 5.5 inches than iPhone is my choice. I am not a fan of Samsung. So its either Sony or Apple for me. Android is not a must. Since my Ultra feels dated and I kind of miss a good audio output and a camera. iPhone Plus will be my choice. If Sony introduce a Z6 Ultra then I can sell my iPhone and buy it.

@thetube
Z5p is not out yet so you can know only after reviews and trying it yourself. Don't make decision that you will regret after.
To be honest, in terms of sales and after i bought z ultra and tried it myself, i don't see why sony want to invest in z ultra line when randomuser suggested the next one will have the same display size which will make it a mini tablet again for the overwhelming majority. Most would rather buy a standard mini tablet and be happy. anything larger then 6" display is not an option for most and when sony already offer the z tablet compact line then it is no brainer. They rather invest more in 4" "z mini". More pocket friendly = more sales. With that said, it is nice that sony care for minority of users who are asking for it.

My question is how well does S810 encode HVEC 4K video, since it has built in hardward that does it can it allow long session 4K video recording (30mins min) before it overheat. If Sony figure out a way to cool the SoC and Camera module at the same time then everything they do here is actually meaningful. What's the point of 4K screen for media viewing when your phone keep overheating

Did anything ever come of that earlier rumour about internal watercooling tech in the phones?

Was it ever a rumor or just a user suggest that what they could be using. It they do, the better place it to cool the camera module and SoC at the same time.

Yes, I was hoping they solve the cooling problem just like how Mediatek program their chips! ^^ The C5 Ultra can turn on 1 hour plus without heating!

ricciolo tipped about it two times...

and i doubt sony says something about cooling tech even though they use it...

c5 ultra is a 6 inch big phablet , of course it can handle 1,7 ghz cortex a53 cores.but with 6,9 mm body and sd810 it's almost impssible to handle heat.

i think z5p and z5c will handle sd810 better then z5 because of dimensions...
