Mr earzan can I ask u a question? Is it possible in nightmode to prolong the exposure in order to have no-noise pics? With my canon in nightmode it works like that but the camera must be stuck on something or 100% the pic will be shacking i.e. you can not take night pics with your hands but, once found something to place your camera on, the pics look outstanding.
Just to understand:)

thanks

biasiman,

You are not asking me but, please, take a look at my chart on page 261 and the clickable thumbnail presenting the effect of Night mode on K750.

In normal mode the longest exposure time is 1/20s, in Night mode 1/5s. Early versions of firmware allowed ISO sensitivity up to 1600, but a later version (sorry, can't just remember which) limited it to 800. This sensitivity can be overridden by exposure compensation, then it goes up to 1600, but who would ever like to have such a noise level?!

If you look carefully you'll notice that at exposure combination 1/20s and ISO 160 will deliver exactl the same result noise wise, in other words the Night mode effect ends there.

The garden photo by e_erzan was taken with macro+night mode, this in good light outdoors. I'm quite positive that the night mode didn't make any difference. Unfortunately we won't see sample in normal mode, and who cares about resized samples - even on flikr - as the Exif data is deleted. Shame.

EDIT:

May I ask, which Canon digicam you have? It probably does some in-camera post-processing, noise suppression, quite unlike these SE camera mobiles.
