you need to activate Airtel Mobile Office. call them up and ask them to activate it, or buy the gprs card (it was rs250 pm in cochin). you get unlimited downloading.

not not a data card, just a piece of paper with a pin number that you call airtel and register. i paid 250rs for it in cochin. its for the grps connection/mobile office.
apn is airtelgprs.com
leave everything else blank/default settings
you need to have MOBILE OFFFICE activated first. usually the airtel cc sends you the mobile office settings as soon as it is activated.

Hello to all fellow Indian Esato members. I'm from India too (Mumbai). I own a W710i which is my first SE phone after four Nokia's. Nice to see so many Indians here.

@sanj so how's this mobile office different from the regular one? In the regular one u pay 15 per day right?
I'm still struggling with MMS on airtel. i'm able to send it now but its not getting delivered. I'm using the following settings:
msg server- http:100.1.201.171:10021/mmsc
proxy address- 100.1.201.172
port no.- 8799
APN- airtelmms.com
Does airtel allow internetwork sending and recieving of MMS?
Thanks!
