@Quickshare, actually it's not just the bare K700, we use lenses to mimic the macro mode.

yup, just try it, it's fun to experiment. just make sure you take it at the right distance (focal length of the lens), otherwise you'll get a blurred pic. several pages back a lot of us started experimenting with telescopes too.
