It also tastes delicious when mixed with shrimps or crab flesh.
Or just simply with a little bit of lemon juice.

@michka, that sounds interesting. I have always eaten avocado as desert. I'll try that one of these days. Thanks for the tip.

by itself it's not very delicious for me, it's creamy flat and sometimes a bit bitter but there's a special taste to it that when mixed with sweetened condensed milk or cream it tastes great! I don't know how to describe it because there's nothing I can compare it with. It's actually on of my favorite fruits.

I don't know about eating it with sweet stuff..... We always eat it in Australia (i still would, but i can't find any good french-style vinegar dressing in the UK) with certain types of peppery vinegar dressing, like french, italian or greek. It also tastes good in a simple garden salad with tomatoes, feta cheese, red onion and cucumber (with a lettuce/rocket of course! )

Actually, if you can get some of the appropriate dressing, it's fantastic just pouring the dressing inside a half of the avocado and eating it with a spoon! I'm getting hungry....

As I said: pour the middle of half an avocado with a mixture of shrimps or crab mixed with cocktail sauce and a bit of lemon juice. Excellent and very refreshing first dish. One of the ways we eat avocado here in Europe during summer.
Just to stay in line with the forum: of course I only eat avocados.
