Aya, remember she is using her phone as a modem, and so has to specify to the pc which data account to use. The phone was configured over the air, so her wap profiles have been set to browse using the correct data account. If she mistakenly uses the numeral 1 representing the first data account (which may be MTN mms) she'll definitely get the error message gprs parameters not supported. But watch out, MTN gprs is no longer free. Billing began yesterday night. You'll however still be able to browse wit 0.00

Absolutely correct. I missed that one

That's similar to what MTN's doing at SA. If so, I will load N750 on my official line 1st of every month and simply browse heaven and earth till the1st day of the next month

Now, I want to see Glo's response to this

But they have not disclosed their tariffs yet, so we don't know what they'll charge per kb.

Oh they will. All in good time. At the moment, their GPRS network is off the air here. Even Vmobile GPRS is gradually becoming unreliable: constant time-outs and all. Knew it was too good to last forever :-) This message was posted from a Nokia

75k/kb isn't good enough if mtn is serious about its gprs service. the only edge mtn may have is the availability of full web access to pre-paid subs.

MTN is still up and running at my end, and vmobile is working well for me. I only experience those time-outs when my connection remains idle for a specified period of time, usualy about 5mins and above.

Who cares about full web when I can use opera mini on my Vmobile and glo, which will also save me a lot of money.. If MTN starts with 75k then they're really unserious..

Thosewho need web access for more than just browsing care. There are people who use POP mail, RSS Readers, IM and more extensively, and who prefer to stay prepaid. MTN would be their immediate choice, 75k or not.

But you guys are funny, pining like old women Did you really expect anything different from MTN? Leopards don't change their spots.

Yes we did, its a competitive market remember? I'm expecting MTN to take the fight to Glo for once. I don't believe they'll stop at 75K per kb
