@Cyberz:
For the SMS sound: it depends on the sound chosen. I use the built in sound number 4. If you are using a MP3 sound make sure that one is encoded loud enough. Use the tool MP3Gain (google will help you) to increase gain if neccessary.
About the battery: I have 3 or 4 days of standby time and I'm a fairly heavy user: about 1 hour of 3G surfing, 2 hours MP3 and 30 minutes talktime (ok, thats not heavy) each day.
Small trick: decrease the display brightness to 50% - that's still more than enough.
Another trick: switch to "GSM only" setting if you don't have 3G coverage anyway.
If you do not reach this then maybe you haven't loaded your battery the correct way initially during the first load. It is very, very important to load the battery first for about 3 to 5 hours before switching the phone on the first time.

Fully agree w/ @kimi on sms alert & battery matters... The battery is very good. I get 72 hrs (3 days) nonstop and I'm a heavy ebook reader. Once, my K610i was at 4% battery and I was still able to read an ebook for 30 minutes, w/ power to spare.
@yamot - Don't worry, K610i won't freeze even if you reach >95% of sms capacity. It can store 1,000 sms (inbox, sent, outbox, drafts combined). And those aren't strictly 160-character sms -- they can be longer.

@chili: nice to know we have someone here from my own country... hi there!
I think that answers Gul 3's question..
I also have a question - I tried having an update service just last Friday from SE site, but still I have a software version of R1CB001. Any idea when will the new software be available in our location?

SE really sucks this time....
i had R1ED001 but old EROM so i went to get my K610i upgrade to R1ED001 (with new R3A016 EROM)
Now i notice that internet get connected immediately after i press internet short-cut.... (this is bad! eventhough this is solved before with same R1ED001 firmware! just different EROM)
And when i set a video as the default ringtone.... it won't show the video when i get phone call, instead it gives me default SE midi tone! (wtf?) so i have to set video tone 1by1 for each contact.
i must say this is the first SE phone that's so bothering me.
how can it passed the "QUALITY CONTROL" ??????!!!???

Hi, I just got the SE k610i 2 days ago and i just turned it off and went to turn it back on again but the fone wont turn on now, all it does is a little red lite flashs wen i push the button,
Does any1 no what the red light means or can help me?
thx
I just had the same problem with my K618 just yesterday... and I could not seem to find out what is wrong.
Same with adriano, I just turned off the phone and when I tried turning it on, the red light would just blink while I press the power button but the phone would not turn on.
I do not think it is the battery as I also have a fully charged K610 and when I try using its battery for the k618, the same thing happens.
I suspect a software corruption.

With R1ED001 you suppose to HOLD the internet-shortcut for 3 second to get to the internet. not immediately after you PRESS it.
