Had the phone for a week now, and think it's great. I heard people say they have only 10Mb free, but mine has 16Mb free. I did a master reset to lose alot of the junk right out of the box. (Software version CXC1250200 R1ED001)
The only thing I hate about the phone is the video player. Simply put, it's rubbish. I put a full length movie onto the memory stick, and then saw how bad the player was. The picture quality is great, but the only functions the player has is "play" and "stop". No pause or fast forward/rewind that I can see... No use at all when it comes to watching a film.
Also I found a minor bug. You can't edit bookmarks in the internet browser. When I save a bookmark then later go back and edit it, it always says memory full (even with 16Mb available internal)
Try this... Create and save a bookmark called "gmail" address "www.gmail.com". I then edited the bookmark to be "Gmail" (just change the g to a capital G). The phone said a "Bookmark with this title already in list. Replace?", then after confirmation is always says "Memory full. Delete one or more files of your choice." and then switches to a file manager stating "Free: 0B". but looking in the file manager normally it states 16Mb Free internal and 536Mb free on the memory stick.
It would be interesting to see if anyone else gets this?
Other than that, excellent phone

Update: Got a tip about the video player. It seems the functionality differs in the video player if you start it via the "File Manager" or via the "Entertainment" menu. Via "File manager" you can only play and stop the film. That's what I did... But using the Video Player via Entertainment you can play/pause/stop/forward/rewind as expected.

Anyone know if you can get the changeable menus on an Orange branded one?

two questions for you W850 owners:
- how is the response od the D-pad? any lag or difficulty in navigating?
- can you switch off the D-pad lighting effects when you play music?
thanks a lot!

Going from a W800i I love this phone!
I have had no issues with adapting to the new D pad. It takes a couple of hours to get used to, but then it's a piece of cake. The buttons on the pad are firm, but not enough to cause difficulty.
The light effects on the pad are off by default. you can change this in the options for the Walkman player.

How do you get the led flash to come on while taking a picture? It's the only thing I can't figure out at the moment.
Also how do you lock this phone while it is closed. I know it automaticly does it if it's opened then closed.

The only thing I thought about the D-pad was that the spacing between the Walkman button, the up "arrow" and the centre button is tight. At the start I kept pressing the walkman button accidently, especially since it's slightly raised. But after using the phone for a week I havent hit the wrong button in a few days. So it just took a little bit of getting used to, but the D-pad in itself feels nice to use.

crstacy,
one way I see to lock the phone with the handset closed is to press the on/off button and it will bring up a menu to either "Shutdown", "Turn on silent" or "Keylock"
