the bad quality of the pics that you post is because the white balance
with small changes the quality can be better

I'll say it again
give a normal person a normal digital camera and SLR camera and let him compair the result
then give the two cameras to a professional photographer and let him take the pics and compair the result

and let me know which camera the normal person will choose and which camera will the professional photographer choose

im surprised.....gsmarena who nearly allways end up with perfect Nokia compare pictures (dont ask me why, maybe the photographer enjoy Nokia more or something..ha ha), have for the first time pictures from a Nokia phone (N95) who looks worse..(both the sand & the trees is more blurry)...

I don't agree. Look at their N90 vs W800 shootout, to see how the W800 rips the N90 a new corn-hole in almost every sample!

and i like to ask you why all of the samples you post are from smape.com and mobilearena.hu

i don't say that these web sites are providing wrong comparisons (not at all... as these two are sources i use alot) maybe they have a faulty unit in their hand... or something else.

but i see comparisons done by mobile-review and gsmarena have better K850 pics.(even K850 is declared the winner in MR).
and as i tested a K850 for 2 weeks.. i could take realy sharp pics at all situations (maybe those unsharp pics you post are of a AF fault)

So what? Some shots by K850 gives more details (but with all the wrong color ). I have also shown you some shots where N95 has more details. But YOU are the one who blatantly generalised that K850 shots have more details .

Whats hard about pressing the d pad twice to lower the exposure to -0.7? Or changing the white balance? Isnt that the point of using settings?

IMO sony ericsson are trying to encourage users to use these settings, i mean thats what they are there for.

Whereas nokia make their camera idiot proof and give their auto setting the only setting you really need to get a great shot.

Once again (x100) it comes down to personal preference. Thats why everyone repeats their opinion over and over again, frustrated that another person thinks differently.

N95 also have a lot of settings to fiddle. If I dont like the pict to oversharpen (which many K850 fans said is the achilles heel of N95 ), I can always set the "sharpness" level to low to reduce the oversharpen effect. btw: if I am not mistaken there is no "sharpness" setting in K850. what a bummer that you need to process K850 photo in the PC everytime

Like I say before, there was a bug in the early N95 camera firmware which auto-reset the sharpness to high (instead of medium) when you adjust any of the camera settings. This is why some of the N95 shots are so sharpened (esp. mobile-review.com review which was done very early on)

N95 sharpness = soft, medium, hard (100% crop)

Looking at the above, it can be seen that when sharpness is set to low, we dont see of the sharpening effect that some are complaining vehemently about the N95.

However the chromatic abberations of K850 such as purple fringing is not solvable by firmware as it is due to crappy lens. We see none of this in N95 photos. Also, under the same condition, noise level in K850 will be generally higher than N95 due to its smaller lens.
