Hello, any one who has an 02 W760 may want to read this, i emailed sony ericsson about the missing Wayfinder and Google maps and this is there reply........
Thank you for your query regarding the Sony Ericsson W760i.

Unfortunately for some reason O2 have removed these two applications from their handsets. We are unsure as to why they have done this, but apologise for the inconvenience.

You can download the Google maps and Wayfinder software from the following websites.

Google Maps - http://www.google.com/mobile/default/maps/index.html
Wayfinder - http://www.sonyericsson.com/fun

Alternatively you can contact O2 again and see if they can re-install these applications onto your handset.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

The problem with the links they sent you are to those pre-linked on SE's FuN site pointing to the trial & buy listings of the product. License to use the FULL apps are already paid by SE and thus should be pushed to your phone via them directly from their own WAP push and link to their servers for the full app.

Hi, i'd like to know if the keyboard in W760 automatically locks when the slider is closed, and if in such state, the walkman controls still work, if not, i'd like to know if there is an option to prevent the keyboard locking automatically upon slider closing....

Thanks in advance!

google maps is free from the link provided.

wayfinder is only a 3month trial period anyway if it was included within the phone so it doesnt matter if its a trial and buyy product on the SE fun site. at the end of the day you'll still have to pay for it to use it.

p.s. just got this phone the other day and its is AWESOME!!!!!

I don't know how the quality compares to the W910i when using the same headphones, but the W760i comes with worse headphones than the W910i ones, so if you use the headphones each one comes with, the W910i should be better.

However, I would assume that each phone would have exactly the same quality if you compared them using the same headphones. There is no real reason for either to be better than the other, especially when their software is almost exactly the same.

God knows why SE has started to bundle those nasty earphones with the W760i. I know some people don't like the in-ear ones (maybe this is why) but the audio quality is far inferior.. rather like the iPod ones.

Basically, I doubt the audio quality on the phone itself is any poorer than other models - and anyone reviewing the phone should realise you don't say how good a phone is by the headphones supplied with it!
