@Bonovox, I've finally taken the plunge and upgraded my C510's firmware through SEUS. It was easier than I thought. However, the problems I mentioned still exist on R1DA032, which is the latest firmware available here. Are you on the same firmware? Could you try to replicate this problem? Here's what I face, usually when I've just turned on the phone, the first time I send a text by pressing "Continue" and then "Contacts look-up", my phone freezes at that screen for an unusually long time, at least 5 seconds. See if you get that as well, yeah? Thanks!

Hello. Er no mine does not do that at all. There are some lags sometimes but nothing i cant live with but its mainly whilst multitasking. Most phones slow down whilst multitasking. When i go to send a text there is no delay at all i dont understand that. Mine is still R1DA032 but i have no problems at all now. Nothing has gone wrong with mine since i swapped it. No crashes or problems. What week is yours made in? You can see it under the battery as 09wk14 which is what mine is. The one i had problems with was made in wk13. Yours may be bad one. Also when you say that its slowing when you first turn the phone on this happens with alot of phones. When i first turn mine on if i go to do something too fast after switching on the menus slow and dont react so fast. When you first turn on your phone wait a minute or two then send a text. I hardly ever turn my phone off

but yes that could be it. Dont know why it does it my old K800i used to do the same. When i first turned it on it never reacted when i pressed menu for over 10 seconds. I think thats your problem. When you first turn your phone on press menu straight away you will notice the delay. That same thing happens with the text. Just wait a min before doing anything when you switch it on. Other than that i dont know.

Yes, I think it happens only on the first time after I turn on the phone, regardless of how long it's been turned on. But it's alright, it's something I could live with. Thanks for your help.

Oh good. With this firmware apart from that strange split screen thing that happens sometimes its very good for an early new model. Though like most Sony Ericsson phones when you first switch it on and press menu straight away it reacts slowly until its been on a minute or so. Like a computer in a way

Hope the new firmware comes soon.

Yep, you're right about that. It's been pretty alright so far, no major issues. I like the screen on it, it's large and very bright.
