I very much doubt we will see any Sony branded devices at CES this year. It's probably still the Sony Ericsson brand that will be printed on these smartphones. The process of transferring everything from Sony Ericsson to Sony takes time. For example, the European commission will have to approve Ericsson being bought out by Sony. This has not happen yet, and the deadline for this is on
February 2nd. More at
the commission (PDF) web site.
I might be wrong about how this things works of course

From the leaked thing and based on unknown13x said, the process is still happening, but the phones will have the Sony Logo, not the

one. The Boot Animation will change and etc.

That's why the Press Release said that about "subject to regulatory approval".

ION is a good move by S(E). The US market is all about producing phones fast with the latest specs.

SmartDock for Xperia ion, an HDMI dock that turns into a small ion Xperia PC by connecting a USB keyboard, mouse and large screen TV.

Which are like small chips that you stick around your environment, like in your car etc. Then you swipe you phone near them and it changes the profile?
For example. But there is a lot more cool things to do with NFC tags. Check for example this:
