no surprise, since I live in Canada, I never have good experience here in any of the Sony store I have been to, used to be 4 in the city. I rather go to best buy to buy a Sony tv than sony store. However, the Sony online store here in canada is amazing, I ordered the Z2, and Z ultra both with some coupon errors 100 bucks off each and all of them were honored no queston asked and their standard shipping was always shipped with expedited and arrive in 1 day. Online is the way to go for a lot of store these days, even best buy and future shop were having trouble here in Canada. I am surprise Samsung even bother to open open a retail chain here, every time I walked by the place is as dead as Sony store and their setup is even more lame. Expect them to go eventually once Samsung smarten up with marketing budget. MS store has some people, but its in the biggest mall in the country but most people are either buying xbox or do windows shopping.
Sony stores are pathetic here, but they do have great prices from time to time, something that is not avaliable online. I think they are cutting 90 jobs or so from those 14 stores.

I say "copy Apple" for Sony. Focus more on the Z series and abandon the low-end and mid-end market so that they could use all of their resources on those phones (3 phones are enough). Give the Z series unique hardware features that the competition couldn't give (especially against the cheap chinese brands). Unless they could differentiate themselves from the others, they would be in the brink of extinction.
I think Sony knows this fact that they have to differentiate but their efforts are just not enough and for f**k-sake, let the mobile division borrow REAL tech from their TV, camera division!

@Shino03
Yeah, definitely. sony needs to make z series of devices ONLY = main, compact, ultra, tablet, tablet compact (5 devices, not 3). i always thought that. the low-mid range market is too crowded and they don't offer competitive devices. i suppose it could help them recover but main problems are still lack of marketing, lack of worldwide availability, no good communication and team work between their divisions. also, they need to go back to annual main flag to shake things up.

Sony Xperia Z4 gets certified by Japanese wireless authority
The new flagship is expected to keep the defining features of the Xperia Z3 – a 5.2" Triluminos display, water resistance and the traditional Xperia design language. The new flagship will most likely be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset, which will bring Cat. 9 LTE connectivity, that's 450Mbps

I agree with Shino03.
If things are that bad at SONY , their final attempt should be simply going all out on the Z line up. The Z4,Compact,ULTRA & Tablet. If they can just improve the Camera's SW side and make just enough changes to the design (doesn't need to be all new),lesser bezel and stuff in a great feature for bragging rights with really quick SW updates then they do have a last chance here.

According to someone who works @ Sony Mobile had told a colleague of mine that the Z4 will have the double tap to capture feature as first seen on the C3. It kind of makes sense I suppose given the massive popularity of a selfie. However until it's confirmed by Sony themselves I'd rate this as an
XR3 grade rumor.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 issues a thing of the past
The past few months have been plagued by rumors about Qualcomm's manufacturing issues with the Snapdragon 810 SoC, the chipset of choice for high-end devices in 2015. The company has tried to do its best to dissipate them, by reiterating how everything is perfectly fine, only to see another report pop up the following week.
Hopefully we'll see this beast of a SoC in the Z4.

I suppose we should expect a tester/manufacturing facility leaked photos soon as z3 was leaked a month and a few before its announcement. digi-wo *cough*
