Anyone else having the same issue? Any recommendations?

Mine showed too many notifications so turned it off and it works
Sure you tried it before ... but if not here is how I have done it.
went to settings -> lock screen & security -> When device is locked ... there you have 3 settings
A. show all notifications content
B. Hide sensetive notifactions content
C. Don't show notifications at all
you also have an possibility in lock screen & security to
''keep notifications on lock screen'' on/off but Iḿ not sure what it does.

I tried all the setting under both and it doesn't make a difference. It stopped working after the last maintenance update two days ago.
Hopefully the next update will fix it.

Hey guys, I just got my XZ and I have to say that after using original Z for more than 3 years XZ is such a massive leap ahead. Didn't expect that the difference in UX would be this massive and this is after few hours.

I got the midnight blue version and it looks gorgeous! Packaging included headphones voucher, UCH12 quick charger 3.0 charger and typical 3,5mm cable headphones.

First impressions?
Very fast - even with stamina on, screen is beautiful, and IMO sound from the stereo speakers is really good although I have no comparison.

Will try to post some further impressions after first few days, for now I'm enjoying my new toy

@moogoo, Yes, you are exactly right. I remember on a previous phone, that clear gel case is moving the SP. I haven't used cases in a long long time. I normally just use a clear body protector on the rear. "For me" its worked out fine, simply b/c I hate cases taking away from the beauty of the premium device that I bought..... How you cover it is up to you and your past experiences.....I never had an issue with my Xperia phones being semi- naked with just SP on front and back.( A lot of that period I didn't even use a SP and been fine) Soon their will be those body screen protectors available, currently i have one of those light SP on the back, that is similar to the stock one that comes ships, except i cut area for my camera. So Im good until something comes along. Im intrigue about the XZ style cover but I doubt I will bite, simply because of my love for a naked beautiful phone.

@Dacha, You said you checked Display and Security settings....but can you check that particular App setting. Can you double check your applications settings to make sure that nothing is contradicting your security settings.Go to.. Settings/Apps/ "The app in question"/Notifications/ Then make sure "Block All" isn't activated/......
I remember something when I initially setup my fingerprint security, that had to do with the lock screen. So may re-doing all that over too. I think maybe the App setting could be overriding over something....Circle back with us. And we will figure it out.

Interesting comparison. It seems that Xperia XZ win over iphone 7plus in the display and camera ! Even the speed is comparable in most of the tasks except during game loading. Iphone 7 plus is twice the price of XZ ! I am impressed. Sony did good with the XZ.

I'm still surprise to see that XZ screen is so much better than iphone 7plus.

Congratulation sony!

@icrkz yea maybe I'll go that route and get one of those cheap screen protectors and cut out the camera area. I love feeling that metal back though... Sad.

@dacha I would suggest the same as icrkz. Check your app notification settings withing Android, not the app settings when you're inside it.

iPhones generally have average screens though, LG and Samsung have generally had no problem beating iPhone displays. I haven't paid much attention to Sony but arent their panels similar to LG?

As mentioned in my pro's VS con's post a few pages back I said that the display in the XZ is the best ever in a Sony smartphone so I'm not surprised in the slightest that it beats the iPhone 7. It's probably the best IPS panel currently for sale with great brightness levels, superb colour accuracy, contrast and viewing angles.
