wait until your battery is full. For your battery safety.
"if you use you phone while charging, this is the beggining of your
battery failure". Its better to turn off your cellphone when charging.
This is definitely true for phones without the 'smart battery' charging system. If your battery doesn't have that (I think that ericsson was the first company to introduce it if I remember rightly, with the T20 (first lithium battery in a phone!)) then you do need to be careful. Very cheap phones, such as the '3' ZTE F866 I would also be very wary about. I own one of these phones myself, and the fact that it manages to fully charge a 1200mah battery in less time than my
v600i takes to charge a 900mah battery is
very worrying. If you own any cheap phones like that - make sure that you turn them off when charging. They don't heat up so much either - and they won't explode due to the high-voltage charging making the phone's mobo go boom!
Basically, be careful - you've got a lot less to worry about with the bigger brands as they have to be a lot more careful with safety tests etc, so if you have a recent nokia,
or moto then your probably fine. I wouldn't trust lg too much though really, or samsung for that matter. They're also not particularly nice phones though!
Thanks to you AWAVE, you answer the quistion of AATUIF.

well i just piurchased a t68i and i charged it over night. the next day i pressed the volume key up and it said i had 189hours of standby time. what happened to the 390 hours?? and the next day, the phone was already on 100hours. all i did was playu one or two games na dtxt a few people. is the 390hours a lie??
"standby" means "standby", i.e. It's on but you DON'T USE IT! Playing some games and texting some people is NOT doing nothing!
I have some old ericsson phone - I got that in 99 second-hand... Never got a new battery (believe it or not) - it'll still seem usable after 6-8 days on constant standby (i.e. 3-4 bars), but within 2mins of actually use the battery is dead...

why should one not use the phone while charging it? i talk on my k800 all the time while it's on charge, and why? cos' there's this bit at the bottom of the charger that allows me to plug my handsfree in. why would SE make such an 'innovation', if they know that it's harmful for the battery? so unless anyone has any scientific evidence why that harms the battery, i'm sticking to using my phone while charging.
and my battery has been great all along

my treo's manual goes on and on about charging as often as you can/for as long as possible...even "while using it" at the desk etc..."to extend battery life"...so what's that about???

maybe what they mean is if you never unplug it from the charger, the battery would never go flat therefore 'extending the battery life'? LOL
