Because I like SE phones and the bundled software will probably be enough for my own usage. I want a phone that can read pdfs and able to edit documents not much else. I'm actually considering the M600 too. I'm going to wait till I have the money. And battery life is important and windows phones aren't really well known for that, at least not the older ones. I will have a tight budget, I don't like S60 phones, I like the jog dial, and I don't think I'll die without a camera because my T630 camera is horrible( when you look at new phones) and missing the camera won't change much.

No, neither is the P990. The first Symbian 9.1 phone to hit Egypt is the 3250. If you've seen my post in the general forum you'll know my screen isn't working and that I cracked my camera's lens. To tell the truth I thinking of the P990 now. For once and for all I'll get a phone that can last through anything. Ofcourse it'll take a while but in the end I shouldb be satisfied till past graduation and maybe even a year or two of work

What difference does it make, as long as it can run almost anything smoothly then its ok. It uses a philips processor named nexipeira(spelling?) that runs at 208MHz and has a special part for handling sound an graphics. Its not all about MHz though so comparing it with an imate wouldn't be fare espessially Symbian has always been lighter to run than Windows.

The reason I care about processor power is important if you look at a good-on-paper handset like the Nokia communicator 9500, that was supposed to be top notch since last year, and just look at the bad reviews and users comments it receivied, which seem really conflicting.
The reason as it may seem, could be attributed readily to the software, though Nokia is known for its stable s/w releases. After doing a little more research, I found out that such a function-rich set only uses a 150 mgh processor, can you imagine? This is due to of course to Nokia's scrooge policy, so they simply killed the 9500!

americany, Thanks, but as I said I'm really thinking more about the P990 now and I might want to buy the phone in Egypt but I won't forget your offer.
mahora, its more about processor power not speed. AMD on barely passed 3GHz but are easily as good as Intel processors. The processor of the P990 has special parts for sound and graphics so the main general part of the processor has its recourse available to othe stuff. And MHz isn't the important part, what matters is how applications work, if everything is smooth then for all you care it could be a 1MHz
