Well, the first thing Sony should do is take care of curing its amnesia, because forgetting the people who bought your products half an year ago is a serious deal-beaker.

Rubberised plastic is more expensive than glossy one... It also feels a lot better in your hand.
as to the amnesia, Sony is only Android phone manufacturer without one - as evidenced by their ICS updates and lack of those at Samsung, HTC.

I think still there is time to XT and XV compete with samsung GS3 IF sony don't delay on release time and they become available next 2 weeks

Ok, tell me, which one is better:
Samsung/HTC/LG option - give good ICS update to their high- and mid-end phones and no update to their low-end phones
Sony option - gives shitty, buggy, laggy, unstable and unusable ICS update to all Xperias ( even the most high-end one ). Still advises you not to update, but, yea, all the Xperias can be updated ( in theory ). So proud.
Which sound better? And, if you buy cheap phones, would you really care of OS updates? Or just buy new one?

Forget LG, they are very bad and slow in update service. Just look to the LG 2X, it will get ICS now, after so long time...
Samsung is focusing only to their highend devices like S3/S2 & Note series...
Motorola fans drive crazy here in germany! They still waiting to get ICS for the RAZR XT910!!!
And HTC is never bugfree! Their One X and One S has a lot of bugs with ICS! Just check forums, you will see it...
Just give SONY the time they needed. SONY is still not 100% yet, they are in this phase to change everything. You/we will see a better SONY than ever! It needs a bit time... SONY will start next year right! After 2013 you will see SONY with new eyes! SONY will come out big!! They have the power to fight with the big two! I can feel it. Hope we don't loose you. Just think positive.
