Hi everybody,
I've been reading esato for some time now and I've got a question about the K750i.
I bought the phone when it came out and kept its F/W up to date.
Like others I updated to the latest F/W. I updated because of one MAJOR problem; Every day at about the same time, my phone shows in the main menu instead of the icon with the theme background, a big ugly black square with the icon in it. When that happens, it dies whenever i get a call/make a call/ about every action I take except from browsing around.
Only a total shutdown/restart of the phone makes it work properly again.
I went to a service point and told them about the problem. They promessed me it would be solved in the latest firmware, but guess what .. it didn't
Now i got the disadvantages of the R1AA088 (worse quality in camera pictures, during calls voice breaking up) but no fixes.
Anyone has this same problem with the black square?
PS.: Tried master reset. Also updated with and without MS

So I guess what I said before about trading one set of problems for another when changing firmware is still true with this new FW. Why don't SE just outsource their software to symbian and concentrate on just making hardware? They should know their weaknesses and developing softwares is definitely their achilles heel. or better yet, move their software department to india or china where they don't practice european style job security. If you screw up, bye bye

Please, these firmware update headaches are better than symbian viruses and slowing down interface. One reason why i also dont like the Nokia Smartphones.

I'm saying this based on my good experience with the Nokia 6600. Which was the only Nokia phone I ever owned. I've had 4 ericssons and 2 panasonic. of the 3 brands, SE seems to have the most problem with FW. Symbian viruses are prevalent in my area, but I never caught any because I always turn my bluetooth off when I'm not using it, and have the sense not to open unauthorized files which could contain viruses. In general, I like SE hardware, which I cannot say with Nokias despite my fondness for symbian OS. I mean why do they have to make their phones so big and blocky?

As far as i know, it's not a bug.
I experience the same with my previous R1A044.

Oh, we can listen to MP4 now? And protected MP4 bought on iTunes Music Store too?
@kupsman
I found a link somwhere in this post linking to sonyericsson/.../seus1.19.exe or something like that. I went to SE page France (i'm from belgium but this part of the webiste was down) and i was able to use the old client updater. But that was a week ago, i don't know for now...

(Apologies if this is a daft question.) I Updated my unbranded K750i (on Vodafone) last Wednesday to R1AA008 using the software link from Tackey. I tried it again today, expecting to see "no newer update available" or similar, but the process ran through to the end.
My phone is still R1AA008, so is this some kind of revision released?

Finally managed to update!!!
Seems SEUS 2 is up and running again. Went through without problems, no errors etc.
Only thing is it messed up some of the photos I had stored, but I backed up so everything is cool.
Am using a debranded O2 UK K750i R1AA008, CDA102338/38 R6A - EUROPE 2
