It looks a little bit too thick to be stunning. I really hope it's not plastic eve though it looks like it.

Also 720p is perfectly adequate for a 4.6 inch display. But we've had this discussion before.
It's adequate in a $200 device, it's not in a $600 flagship. Z5C is the latter. The fact that it has no competiton doesn't change anything - it lacks sharpness you expect from a premium device.

How about this. There are no 1080p or 1600p panels in production at 4.6 inches. Sony does not have the power nor the volume to demand a display company to specially produce a 4.6" 1080p display. They can basically only use off-the-shelf components. For a device of the size of the Z5C only 720p exists.
Now, where do you propose Sony get a higher resolution panel from?

if screen is matter , then 4,6 inch isnt enough for aynone while there is bigger screens ,no matter how much sharp screen that is 4,6 inch...
sony can choose 1080p sharp screen for z5c but instead of they choose double fps for games and better batery life.

they could have used a 4,7" FULLHD display for the Z5C.

Size is a different thing. Some people prefer bigger screens, some want smaller ones. Kudos to Sony for producing the only compact flagship in Android world. But it's still a flagship and the display should have flagship parameters like brightness or sharpness. Adreno 430 combined with 1080p display have enough power for all games in next two years (besides - smaller screen for gamers?). Difference in battery life would be negligible.

How about this: two years ago, in 2013, HTC somehow managed to get excellent 4,7" 1080p for One M7. Don't tell me that in 2015 higher resolutions are more difficult to get/produce.

I though the 8 generation of a phone produced by a fruit company has a 4.7" phone with 750x1334 pixels, which is more or less the same as z3c, and cost well over $600, but no one is complaining?

They've made a horrible horrible mistake here.
Being glossy back and sides, the 'Premium' device looks the same as the older Z3/Z3+ and the matte finished flagship and compact look smarter.
Obviously, in hand it may feel the other way around, but in press shots, live shots and review shots the flag and compact will look sleeker.
Glossy was really nice two years ago. Flat matte, rich texture will be the look for the next few years. It shows by the sudden popularity of wooden finishes in Chinese handsets, iPhone has moved on from glossy glass back years ago. Then looking at the other end, the big HTC is hideous with a glossyish metal back and Samsung have taken on the glossy backs too.
These design traits are following design trends in modern web design. 4-5 years ago glossy round buttons were everywhere on the net, now we see block buttons with pastel (read matte) tones. EDIT: As if on cue, Google have just today changed their logo to use more pastel tones and flat shapes.
I know what I would prefer and which could maintain the Sony Z series essence but modernise the style, and that would be a quality textured back and sides. Just don't make it feel plastic-y in the hand.
To Sony: I live in Beijing and in easy commuting distance from your offices there. I'll gladly come in and tell you what's good and what's not, from both a designer's and a fan's point of view.

And what about only 2 GB RAM in Z5C ??? Its shame for smartphone with SD 810. If that costs 600 euro, than goodbye sony.

I just hope the Z5C has a huge battery.
If Sony put a 3,500 mAh battery in a compact I'd buy it in a second.
Realistically I'm expecting it to be around 2,800+ mAh.
I hope the design of these phones is a sign that Sony is going back to its rugged roots.
I think Sony should make the compact extremely durable and last forever on a charge.
It's been a while since Sony made an almost unbreakable phone.
