@Kryptik: Do you use all the apps posted on that mailing list...
Sometimes I feel like getting an S60 phone just so that I can use those .sis files.

@ Brix, i use only a handful of apps, mostly those from Symbianware. As a rule i don't install an app until i've seen some feedback from other users, which is why i like Khaliq's source site so much. Loads of users there, all giving reports on how well new apps function on their phones. Will send you the link so you can have a look...

Checked out the site, have to say it's neat.

Yessterday I managed to open my K700's case using tweezers and a credit card (followed the intstruction posted on www.howardforums.com). I managed to clean the area around the joystick and will later insert a blue transparent plastic to change the colour of the keypad.

@Kryptic

Apologies for the late reply.

As a father myself, i know exactly where you are coming from. It's an unfortunate state of affairs and no mistake.

Other than instating a law, that minors my not use a colour screen mobile(esp w/camera), to avoid things like pornography and similar mms' , i really have no idea on how to stop it.

It is unfortunate that adults get pressured by their kids into getting the best possible mobile when a: it really isn't necessary b: a new one will come out and they will want that and c: it never really solves the problem, just complicates the situation.

It's strange how even as adults we get bullied by kids all over again (kids are cruel).

Imho, put your foot down and just say no. Kids don't need the best. They don't need every toy in the store. I learnt that as a child and benifited from it. It seems no child these days appreciates the value of hard work and earning something. What we want... isn't always what we need.

Kids don't need a colour screen phone. They don't require mms. The phone is there to create contact between child and parent.... if that.

Now... back to pretending I'm working

@BlueQuill: The new Prince of Persia- Two Thrones is still lis being listed as "Coming Soon" on the Gameloft website.

@Siosal: Right now my feelings about mobile porn are neither here nor there because I don't have kids. My beef is with unscrupulous companies who exists for the sole reason of making a "quick buck" and if love poems is the path to a million dollars they'll take it. Even though I'm not a serious fan of regulation Icasa could make themselves useful by regulating the distribution of offensive cellphone content.

Regulation... yes. I am sure there is/should be some clause somewhere in the License agreement that protects minors.

I am interested in how SA deals with this issue caused by new technology. In Nigeria, no Telco dare put up any porn on their wapsite like MTN SA does. It is zero tolerance ...so far.

And the Adults are yet to get phones... much less the kids.

Check out http://www.imessage.co.za and see how easy it is to set up a service whereby suckers pay mucho dinero to send sms to receive whatever it may be that you choose to sell them. How about we set up such a service, advertise it as something like Naked Babes, etc then send em pix of skeletons? Can't get much more naked than that :-) This message was posted from a Nokia

LOL@Kryptik.
@coola: The networks in SA don't provide porn, they'll tell you it's 3rd party content providers who merely lease capacity from them. What is starting piss off though is the offensive ads on tv late at night.
