Hi,
I recently purchased a SE W950i, and am facing this weird problem. Whenever i try to play a .mp4 video file, the phone hangs up, or simply reboots. I am using M3 for encoding videos, but even then, the phone doesnt play the default video provided along with the phone, the DEMO TOUR one, The error being a MMFControllerProxyServer error.
I upgraded the firmware with SEUS last night to R9GA001 and CDA toR6E28. As far as my knowledge goes, this is the latest firmware.
Can someone help me out in this regard?

The phones with UIQ 3.0 software are not stable because of the very bad firmware(which have been addressed now)and
very low RAM.Thats the reason why you, me (and every uiq3 phones users)have these problems.This is the reason why the prices of the phone dropped drastically.
I used to have these hang up/crashes etc (till Dec 2006)when using multiple applications at the same time...like Web+ Music, Quadrapop+music, Camera+Web etc.
What you should do is to close every application after using it with task manager.Avoid opening more than 3 applications at a time.When playing a video,close all other application.Get Swiss manager or better,Swiss manager Pro.Update your firmware to the latest.

Btw,i played with a P1i last week for about 15 min in a
shop.Looks well built,slow response(firmware update might fix that),hope the extra RAM solves the problems of crashes and hangups,Camera was impressive,a bluetooth headset is also included(if i remember correctly)comes with M2 card(cant remember how much space),u get a coupon with which u can buy softwares for the phone online...upto 20 softwares!!
Perfect for non-smartphone/M600 users upgrade but not worthy for a P990 user.
Since P1i and W960 are almost the same,play with a W960 before u put the money.

well im considering getting the w960i. it looks too damn good. but i dont really need a walkman phone, nor do i need a camera phone. maybe the new htc Tytn II if it passes my 'compactness' test. as of now there is no phone in the market which i would like to buy

I'd suggest U start a thread in
Symbian phones section & m sure some 1 will ve an answer.
Thuggie...sourav has a diff problem...his brand new phone has neva been able 2 play ne video (MP4, 3GP), no mater what size, even without nething running in the background...check out his thread @
techenclave.
BTW...even I got me mom a W950i for 9.4K from Alfa...works superb, no problem what so ever.
So, nebody played COD 4 Demo yet ??? Its Awesome...much better than MOH Airborne !!!
