Will the X1 be compatible with all the functions of SE's watches range?(namely, the MBW150)

Why do you say you can only add 16GB to the INNOV8 as really any SDHC able device is able to support cards all the way up to 32GB. Which would give the INNVO8 a potential total of 40GB storage, so whilst most SDHC devices will have a maximum of 32GB of storage obviously those that have a large internal storage will exceed this by either another 8GB or 16GB depending on what they are fitted with. Where have you got tis idea that a device can't have more than a max of 32GB of storage from especially as currently there aren't even 32 GB cards available as the 16GB cards have only just been released. But lets be serious for now i really don't think any one can consider 16-32GB of storage via one or two memory cards to be a problem for all but the most demanding of users.

The SDHC standard is currently limited to 32GB. Of course the real limit to the capacity of any device is limited by it's addressing.
For example, it states in the Samsung Innov8 specs that it will only accept a maximum additional 16GB SDHC. Do you have any examples of a smartphone that will
demonstrably allow you to exceed 32GB external storage (I will stand corrected)?

Yes you are right. 16-32GB is plenty of storage...for now. But as we demand higher bitrate MP3's, higher megapixel pictures, higher bitrate movies for high-res screens, and bigger more complex OS'es, we are going to, sooner or later, be considering 32GB to be paltry.

I think they have stated that because only 16GB is currently available (much like SE whitepaper said K750 would support max 1GB, yet in practice it could support much larger). Does it actually say anywhere that the device can't address more than 16GB? Would seem unlikely to me since to comply with the SD standard it would need to be able to address up to 32GB.

I agree, but for the next year maybe two, 32GB will be the max that's available (for any one memory card). After that we may even lose backwards compatibility as the standard is changed.

So whilst 32GB may be the largest amount of storage supported by the SDHC standard if a device such as Nokia N96 with 16GB of built in storage is not limited to a total of 32GB with only another 16GB card but will be 48GB with the addition of a 32GB card, which IMO is a truly stunning amount of storage for a smart phone. Especially when you consider just how small Micro SDHC cards are and how easy they are to swap with just two cards you are looking at up to 64GB of storage enough for most people to carry a vast selection of Music and Films or what ever else they wish to have with them. Who knows what the next generation of storage cards will offer but it should be truly mind blowing.

The question is, what mechanisms are available in the OS to allow addressing of external storage > 32GB ? Just because you can physically cram >32GB into a SDHC-supporting device doesn't mean the OS or apps "know" how to address that which exceeds 32GB. What I'm saying is, it is unlikely you can separate the "internal" 16GB of media storage from what is added by way of the SDHC slot. IOW, the two added together can't total more than 32GB. I could be wrong, but there's no evidence pointing otherwise.

wow than how fast the n96 will be with 48GB ?
i'm pretty much sure that it'll be very slow if both memories became full
