just because a handset should be announced or is due to launch doesnt mean we should b seeing spy pics.... i mean no1 saw the W580i comin did they???
no pics no nothin!
If Sophia is really coming an is gonna b a big release then SE will want to keep it as quiet as poss to stop other manufacturers getting wind of it and putting somethin together to fan the flames of an outstanding release!!!
I mean Samsung did it with LG's Chocolate by bringing out a slightly better equipped one out a week after the LG come out lol...
B patient my fellow esatonians!!! Time will prove our worst fears correct!

yeh i think so... for some reason i feel sophia isnt goin to live up to all the dreams on this thread...
SE r always really clever bout such things... Let a competitor release a handset with everythin bolted to it (like the N95), wait a little an see how well it sells and if the company have any probs with software or hardware and then release something thats very simliar but more reliable, has slightly better hardware and more reliable software BUT is a lot cheaper to produce and thus a lot cheaper for us to purchase... Like they did between the N70 and K750i....
N70 is released as an all singing all dancing phone that does everything but is very very unstable software side! Then SE release the K750i which has a slightly better cam but is more reliable, more user friendly and cheaper!

This has been the strategy for a while now - and its seems to be working but not always to the benefit of us, who want it all in one device.
Like why confine a 5.0mp cam to super high-end devices? Just put one in a mid-tier Cybershot phone and it will be automatically compared with the cams on high-end devices like the N95 and will be priced a lot cheaper at the same time.
Sort of makes sense . . . .

Thing is that after release of NOKIA N95 in most European countries, SE has left a lot behind in terms of high-end devices. The good strategy would be to announce the competitor to N95 and release it latest by June. If the rumors here for October are true then I will go for a N95 in the summer. SE seems not to be interested forhigh-end users like us. Instead the give us the W880 which is sold for 450 euros(approximately)!!!!!!! Well that's a very high price for 2 MP camera(without auto focus) and 1 GB memory.....Cme on SE give us something or loose us....

SE arent that interested in grabbin early adopters of new tech as these type of consumers r the most likely to move from SE to Nokia to Someone else and back again...
Whereas the majority of peeps on here and others who love SE and r die hard fans will wait and SE know that and know that their customers will b happy wen its eventually released...
If SE thought the N95 was gonna b a huge threat they would of released somethin by now!
Patience is a Virtue and this time its gonna pay i think!

ok, no hsdpa, and no wifi ... ? why would the new z-series have hsdpa then? i mean if the sofia is to be placed a top SEs performance handsets save for the now defunct p series why would they NOT incorporate something like that especially when its included on a "lesser" phone that is released before?
that to me is a HUGE discrepency in what your saying bav, not calling into question your accuracy just the coherence of your statements seems amiss. as far as the sofia being a "bump" we got the bump already thats the K810 that exists it makes zero sense for SE to release another marginal increase in tech. strictly from a business standpoint. from a person who wants an SE phone im annoyed that the announcements are of mid teir phones i have no interest in ... the w880 is a joke and i should hope that they would hold that models successor off until the end of their cycle next year, or whenever an update comes i would much rather have a real phone and a real announcement, sooner than this damn week 41 bullish.
october, i dont know if i can suffer any longer with this damn razr and im sure as hell not spending money 2x just to hold me over. if i knew what i was waiting for it would make it easier. if they underdeliver on this phone then a lot of ppl will be disgusted not enough to warrant a reaction from SE (we are a very small number maybe less than 2000) that care about the level of phone thats released.
you have shaliron alleging that itll have hsdpa on the front page and a 2.2" screen i wonder if thats false too? the internet is getting impatient ... really we are used to a few pictures of something, the pics we did get you get part of the audience saying its NOT sofia, you get the other part of the audience saying its an OLD proto of sofia ... so somewhere a 5.0mp phone exists for this company, as far it being pushed back it doesnt quite make much sense to have even pursued testing it since last winter. sure who doesnt want it to be as good as possible, i know i do but at the same time i would just like to know before Q2 is over.

Releasing Sofia would probably kill off any further K800i/K810 sales in a few weeks (who would have 3.2mp if 5.0mp is available?).
Umm... people who were waiting for the price to drop before buying. K750 is still selling even though K800 has been released for over 6 months.
I also don't believe that they would want to reduce the time between announcement and availability specially when Nokia has started shipping N95.

i think se is very much aware of n95 presence and strategically it will attract high end users but if there is a threat for se they must be working something else. high end segment is limited and with n95 price it's impractical. camera is not bad though at 5 megapix its quality looks lika a 3.2 with af. if se releases next week the m610 it will divert some of the n95 buyers and even me i'll grab one until se high end killer resurrects.
