To put it harshly, that's a bit pitiful. I went into Vodafone and 4th October was their preliminary date (but that was about a week ago).
I'm an O2 customer and my contract just so happens to end tomorrow! It appears you can upgrade to the X1 but as
Creid said, no deatails on prices or tariffs. Just that all O2 upgrades are on 18 month contracts (which is fine).
Will be interesting to see what Vodafone have to offer. Unfortunately, as an early-adopter I'll probably not be able to benefit from the good deals that Dialaphone and similar promote (where you get an iPod or PS3 or TV with the phone).

I'm not sure. You'll have to contact the place that is selling it.
I was on the phone with Expansys USA salesperson and he said that Expansys UK will get it on the 10th and then Expansys USA will get it on the 13th (shipping from the UK to the States).

Do you mean O2 UK? If so, I'm really dubious. I would rather be on O2, as that's who I'm with at the moment. However, one of their stores told me that it's been put back to 2009, another told me they didn't even have it on their system. I have called O2 twice in the last week, and been told one time that they didn't have a release date, and when I called them yesterday I was told they would be getting it end of November, beginning of December.
O2 really don't seem to know what they are talking about. Let's hope their release date of 6th October is correct!

It's just typical of network call centres I'm afraid. Some staff are really clued up, but most don't know what on earth they are talking about.
You're best waiting for the official word from the website, but I can tell you there is no way this phone is delayed until next year.
