The way I see it, they should just converge it into one phone, rather than a cybershot phone and a walkman phone. Have One super phone lets say xperia Z, which has all the best they have to offer, the camera hardware and software by cybershot team, the music experience by walkman, screen/multi media by bravia, gaming by ps mobile, and battery by the battery team(?). This will truly be a one sony experience, not the old divided sony

.
And to maximise their profits, they need to have lower variants providing high quality & experience for that price point.
The way I see it, they've already started moving in that direction. The next step is renaming the Camera app as "Cybershot" like how they replaced the Music app with the "Walkman" app.

@lolstebbo: I agree. I'd love to see such convergence in one device. That way I think Sony would be in a position to compete at the highest level.
Long live Sony

I don't know if Xperia V's display is really a White-Magic one... coz AFAIK the reason of Why Sony used it only in that small 4" device is because of technical and cost limitations/issues that stops them from making larger White-Magic displays and they're working on fixing or resolving these limitations/issues in order to make larger panels... so I wonder if Sony managed to make a little larger 4.3" found in XV...

Yeah, and it doesn't really surprise me.
I mean if they backported everything, what would be the point in buying the 2012 handsets right?
Its the exact same reason the iPhone 4 doesn't have Siri, even though its running iOS 5.1.

I have the SE Xperia Arc and personaly feel Sony [Ericsson] has done a good job with the 2011 Handsets in terms of updates. I have no complains, because they have given the users several updates up to Android 4.0.4:
2.3.2
2.3.3
2.3.4
4.0.3
4.0.4
Dont know if Im leaving some update out, but my point is, this is a minor issue, besides, probably its going to be taken care of by the good guys over XDA

Looking at the motorola press conference I wish Sony would release a phone with a really large battery as well. I could take some thickness if it had a 3000+mAh battery.
Edit.
And the main event with any RAZR Maxx is, of course, an upgraded 3,300mAh battery that promises up to 21 hours of talk time, 13 hours of video playback or eight hours of web browsing on LTE. Naturally, a price has to be paid for such longevous life, but at 67.9mm wide, 131.9 mm long
and a mere 9.3mm thin
Seriously, Xperia S is a f**king brick compared to this. Motorola engineers> Sony engineers
